no interference because controled FPV by Fatshark + 2.4 ghz BUT record by canon camera onboard (direct link) !!!

Continuing from my previous post here are some pictures of the hole for the camera. Somebody had asked to see more detail. Its a pretty big hole, but reinforced well.

Also, I got rid of the power filter for the video equipment and have installed a separate battery, and I think I came up with an interesting place to hide it. So, now I have 4000mAh flight battery, and 1500mAh video battery It weighs 1380 grams total, it will definitly go over 1400g when/if I install the gyros. The bird is ready to fy, just need to do a long range check. I picked up and XGY1000 head tracker, I still need to buy goggles. I am heading to Poland for 2 weeks, so I want to order goggles by this friday and have them waiting here when I get back

heh heh.. I agree... nice spy plane that is disguised as a bird! Problem is I have so many bald eagles in my area and they just might want to attack or mate with it. Could make some interesting live videos though :P

Sigma, just curious, without any offensive intention, how do you fly 600mw 2.4G in EU? Afaik, for non digital streams, the power is limited to 10mW in this band.
We have locally this controversy everyday, and I want to know how others ruled it.

I´m asking because I need new batteries and I want to try some from HobbyCity, the ABF or the Zippy. For my Funjet I had decided to give a try to the Zippy-R, because my actual setup is limited with the batteries, while the motor and esc would handle more power perfectly, I´d like to increase the current from the actual 26-27A to around 35 or maybe 40A, but to be in the safe side with the batteries they should handle at least 5A more than the real draw...


But I´m thinking... something is wrong with your setup

My motor is 2800kv and with a 5x5 and 3s the current is 27A. Your setup is more or less the same, but with 3700kv motor. That means the current should be around... maybe 40-45A? Probably a lot more, as the current increases exponentialy with the rpm. As the battery is 2200 18C it wouldn´t handle that current, so I´d bet the voltage is droping quite a lot, decreasing the rpm and the current, but that´s not good for the battery.

Well, for $20 each battery it´s not a great loss but the whole setup would be much more efficient with a lower kv motor, or much much hotter with a bigger battery but you probably would need another esc too...


BTW, are you going to test the DMD stuff with this one?

The setup for my funjet was already installed when i bought the plane.
I dont know the current, the only thing i know is that i boiled a 12-15 C 2200mAh when i pushed for full throttle in 10seconds. After my FPV flight around 5:30 minutes 60 - 70% throttle i managed to charge the battery with 1250mAh and the battery didnt get any hot at all after the flight. I will try to measure the current on the bench. I have about 3-4 flights on the battery.


No DMD stuff on the funjet, dont get the flighttime
