Lol, yeah I guess that would be a bad situation
But I've used this on my XP-59 before with no issues, and its been flying for over 2 years now. I guess a little 3M R77 spray would be the 'insurance' if you wanna look at it that way.

Anywho, I'm delivering the J10 to a customer this sunday, and hopefully we'll have a great flight report to post!

...if the winds comply...

Another J10 ready to go!!!

Maiden is set for this sunday if the winds comply.
Setup with elevons only, and no landing gear. (Bungee launch)

Haoye 70mm fan with a Medusa Afterburner: 28-56-2800kv
4s fresh off the charger pulls 77 amps at just over 1k watts,
but settles in around 70 amps WOT.

Enjoy!
Vic.

I'm real interested to hear how this one goes and if it needs as much up elevator as mine needs. I've got 4 bat paks ready for mine tommorow, I hope to get it as tuned in as I can.

good luck with the maiden.

Round off the inlet at least on the inside to form a lip! You'll get more thrust and it'll be quieter. Xacto knife or a sanding stick.

My Haoye F-18 has a rounded in let on the bottom half and square edges on the top piece!? Lazy 3D modeler I guess!

Cmon Ed! You know I know better than that
Those pics were right after final assembly. It looks even better now that I rounded off the inlet lip, and touch-up painted alot of the areas.
Cant wait for the maiden!

Hey Richard,
I don't have the J-10 but I built a canard plane called the X-41. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...=779331&page=9
Well when I went to maiden her, she was running out of elevator authority. I move the battery around hunting the CG. Then I remixed the Canards and Elveron so that I could turn them on and off. The next flight the plane had plenty of elevator, flipped the switch and she started to dive and lose authority again.
Turns out that I had my canard setup backwards, quick flick of the switch fixes it! So I would turn off the canard, hunt for your CG, then start mucking around with the canard. One thing at a time! Then you can be Sir Mixalot!
See the video on setup from the link above, it is at the bottom of that page.

I was there at the maiden flight. The launch was very smooth..used about 15 lbs of pull and the J-10 went off the ramp with some decent velocity.
Vic did a great job putting together the jet.The canard was fixed and the plane was flown with elevons only. Seemed like the cg was right on and a super flyer! I was so impressed that I am going to order one and probably do a build thread.
Well done Vic and Joe!!
