Steve and myself have desided on our new high performace PSS build a DH-100 VAMPIRE it will be molded glass fuz and booms clear canopy ply sheeted foam wing 48"
we want to keep a scale outline on this model and it has great appeal for the slope.

It has great apeal as a electric power also ,in fact a buddy and i were talking about this old bird while watching Wobby flying his new Sabre and he remark there is no good ARF around apart from a small one and and an expensive total kit. mmm so keep in mind that some will want to build for power after working next door to the Moorabin air museum for many years and looking at the one they have there i sorta wouldn't mind one

I have just started carving the fuz out of a solid block of mdf that is 150mm *150mm by 700mm long and weighs about 10kgs will post some pic soon of a roughed down plug.

Here are some more plug picks after 4 hours of carving and sanding starting to look like a vamp fuz now

I am hoping we can build this with a wing loading of around 17oz thats an AUW of 50oz for those days around the 15 knts.
Span is 48"
wing area is 422sq"
rg 14 8.5% for the root
rg 14 9% for the tip
This should make it less prone to tip stalling
naca 8% for the tail
2CH ailerons and elev
3 servos all will be hidden in the wings with the elev push rod running though the boom
The booms will layed up with carbon to give added strength for those 3 point landings
The hatch will have the clear canopy attached to it so you can fully detail the cockpit
A exaust duct will be fitted to the inside of the fuz just for looks
gun ducts will be molded into the fuz

I always liked this plane growing up, actually it was the Venom (DH112) but they are almost the same. This will be a cool project.

This is a cool plane. When I was growing up, a guy up the road was renovating one of these in his garage and I used to watch him for hours in his freezing cold garage......

The Vamp has nicer looking lines i dont kno what that is maybe it was a proto type venom
