Mission Statement

Provide an atmosphere in the spirit of camaraderie by having a single, focused goal of flying a radio controlled airplane around the 48 continental United States in an expeditious manner.

Vision Statement

Fly a battery powered model airplane (Stevens Aero SQuiRT) in all 48 states by as many pilots as possible at their local fields. The plane will be hand-delivered to the next pilot on the list creating a "chain" of pilots that theoretically fly the airplane across the United States and back.

BTW, the 101 days is not a firm rule. The goal here would be to just ensure we make it to every state and it be flown by as many pilots and as at many fields as possible in the 48 states. The time isn't a factor, I just wouldn't want it to drag it out for 2 years.

Get your pilots ALL lined up before you start the flying...

And plan the best route so people have the least driving.

I'm too deep inside Texas (250 mi from nearest border)... you need someone near a border with LA, OK, AR or NM... Close to 2 of those would be even better.

Thanks for signing up fellas!

Fred, you bet. All the logistics will be worked out before the start of her journey. And I wouldn't leave you hanging and make you or anyone drive that far. We'll find some other folks nearby. My goal is 50 mile hops. That's the goal, but we'll see how it works out.

This should be fun!

I'm in! Sitting at border of OH, KY, and IN so we can knock out 3 right in this area.

To be clear, pilot hometown and flight location should both be in the state being "claimed' right?

Measure the weight before it leaves - see how much dirt & sharpie it collects on it's journey

State claimed is the state your local flying field is in. If you happen to live in a border town and your favorite flying field is in another state then go by the state your flying field is in. Although I doubt this will ever be an issue.

There will be a pilots log to post info from the pilot, date flown, remarks and any pertinent flight info that the next pilot should know. The log will be passed along with the plane. Pilots are welcomed to put their local item of interest in the log that makes their area unique such as a club sticker or whatever, as long as it is no more than G rated. In other words, keep it clean please. Pilots will be allowed to sign the plane with their screen name but keep it small because I am hoping we get a lot of pilots to fly her.

I would love to have a web site so folks can upload video and photos (above and beyond the one required photo that is sent to me to be used in the final video) so we can monitor its progress but that is beyond my capability.

I'd also like to come up with a catchy name. Any suggestions?

Thanks for signing up. You will be added to the list.

Frank
