Andrew,

Not really a Nutball but...

My guess is the plane will fly good however turns may be a little wide due to undersize control surfaces. Theory says there's no difference between rudder/elevator and properly designed elevons. I found this to be true in my own experience.

BTW dihedral has no great effect with elevons other than making plane more sensitive to crosswind. Differential action of elevons provides adequate roll.

Yep not really a nutball I like to change plans..

I will experment with thcontrol surfaces!! ELEVONS!!! thats the word I was looking for lol..

Dihedral is there for stability for indoor flying.

Yeah, I like to modify too.

I don't think dihedral will increase stability much. Putting battery and gear underneath will. I hope you have a really BIG hall to fly in.

The first one was built with 6 MM EPP and for all intents and purposes it flys just like my 20 inch Blue Wonder job .I consider excellant results .Auw with a 350 =2 cell battery 3.4 Oz. see my specs and comment page 87 line 1303

My second plane was built to be very light .It was built with 4 MM epp and no extra bracing is needed. The AUW with a 2 cell 350 MAH is only 2.97 Oz. I intended to use it in indoors .I have flown it a lot in front of my house out in the street .It flys great and is a lot of fun .I also increased the rudder and elevator sizes .It will not fly with the same authority that the 6MM will but it is made for a differant requirement and doe's it very well .You can see the specs and my comments on page 92 line 1372.

Charlie
I can see where my weight is now , I went with what I had, 500 mah battery, 10A Esc and 5 gram servo's plus I used a fair bit of reinforcement to stop flexing. Seems like with the 10g you have to watch the weight thanks for your input and details. By the way with the 7x3 prop does the motor get hot mine does with a 6x3.

Depends on what size you are going for, if 20" i would stick to the Blue Wonder 1300Kv on 2 cells and 9X5 or 10X4.7 prop.

Available elsewhere as well.

Yes, Blue Wonder is fantastic. Cheep too. I like 8" props to keep the heat down and stay in peak efficiency range.

Same here, more than enough thrust and less amp draw for longer flights.

Never had any heat problems running 9X5 , comes down barely warm and i get 12-15 mins on my 800 2 cells which is plenty.
Get nearly 20 if frugal, yeah right, the Nutball makes you want to fly frugal .

Tube on Blue Wonder with that prop is too hot to hold after 10 sec at 8v. This is my reference and may be too conservative but tells me something about where I am on the efficiency curve. I have also measured permanent noticeable increase in KV after use of big props due to effect of heat on magnets. My theory is most guys are running way hot and don't notice because it has cooled by the time they feel it. Personal preference I guess.

Typical 1 hr 15 min with 1000mah on my foamies. Ridiculous I admit unless you're involved in some kind of duration thing. 25 min on 350mah more fun.

Maybe your motor is higher than 1300Kv Rich, mines always cool.
I always feel them as soon as i land even though tested with power meter when first set up.
Motor has been run for year with 9X5 in a VectorX and then Nutball,
previous to that another year running 7X6 on 3 cells in a pusher Jet.
Thats with an average of at least 20 mins a week.

Hmmm....maybe I just gotta try that prop again. Keep in mind I'm holding the tube not the bell which may be a reason for the difference too. Also static runs hotter than flying.

What do you get for static amps? My 8043 is .7-.8 amps cruise 3.5 WOT.
