Poor kitteh, of course you have invited him in and given him food until they return to pick him up.

My problem is I don't even know where this cat is. I have sent 3 e-mails ( the only contact) and no answer. I have a carrier and water in the car and can be on my way in minuets

Yes people like that should be used for target practice.

I have a great boss that knows what I do. The last time at 10:00 am I walked in his office and told him I was going to Brooklyn for a rescue, I was just told "GO".

Tank the wonder dog

Tank was rescued by the " Aussie rescue" in Kentucky. We picked him up in Wheeling West Virginia four years ago. He had been very badly abused and was an emotional wreck we got him. He now lives with us in Pennsylvania and is not in any way the same dog. To try and explain it would take too many pages of text.
Enough said he's just one great intelligent family member.

New foster kitteh Njamba trying to get past house cat Mica. Njamba came from a hoarder, flea infested, ear mites and a real bad upper respiratory infection with boogers coming out of his nose and mouth. Doing much better and rumor has it his brother has been surrendered and should be here tomorrow. May name him Kamau, as he is suppose to be all black.

Actually, he's not a border collie.Notice the ears bent over (AUS.SHEP.) Seventy pounds (not Border collie) Burmese markings ( ???) Shorter legs than either. (Corgi ?). Very smart, quite obedient.Agile as hell on legs and paws like clubs.Gentle, with kids, yet has killed about 15 squirrels,2 possums,4 skunks,2 racoons,3 groundhogs, more snakes than I can count. The FBI crime lab would give up trying to decypher his genes.

Changed his name, he is really fairly quite so name change from Njamba to Kamau. Here he is in the office today, walked up to several patients to get head and belly rubs.

This is Zelda. She is 2 now and if you look in the background you will see a nice Smit Nederland. Well this morning she decided to jump from the chair she is sitting on to the desk top behind her. The chair turned she missed but not before hooking the Smit and taking it down with her. So ends 12 years of the Smit.

Not repairable? Tyler, Kamau's very timid brother leaped out of the window, took at my Springer in construction, smashing the bridge. Repairable, but will add a couple more hours of work to the boat.

Repairable, probably. Will take quite a while. I'm in the middle of building CC sport fisherman, and designing a new boat. I don't know if I will rebuild it. It is really messed up. She basically rekitted it. And yes the Smit did the Smiting. If it wasn't for the fact I rescued her a three weeks old I might have really been PO'D.
Thing is that is what cats do, nature. I just wish I was in the room to at least laugh at her.

Great vid Tom. The pup really enjoys the wind as does my Cinder. She has her own window to look out of but preferes to sit on my lap and hang out mine. Sort of like a live airbag. Ha!

Thoughts n' Prayers

A Sweet Little Lady

Momma
to
Socksie(f) and Blaze(m);
Tuxedo bookends

Tigger(f) & Tiger(m);
mottled tabby & tortise shell bookends

and Ghost (f);
all white & cream

Sigh.... Well, when I started writing this post around 05:20ish this morning, I was going to ask for your thoughts & prayers for Momma-Tishs' recovery, as you'll see if you check the edit log.... We'd just gotten back from dropping her off at the Pets Unlimited critical care facility. Got the first draft posted, then the phone rang; it was the vet. Tish lost her fight about 06:25 this morning to the e. coli infection she's been fighting for the last couple of weeks. She was 14 and a few months - a young kitty.

I hope Momma Tish can find her Socksie again, hopefully she wasn't too far ahead, and they can run and play; chase butterflies, tumble and cuddle joyously, happily together again in the warm sunshine somewhere, finding all the joy they deserved.

Those of us who have loved and lost a member of the family (human or pet) understand At times, loosing a pet can be most difficult.Find consolation in the fact that your love, and care, for MOMCAT was the best that could be done.

thanks guys, the thoughts and condolences mean a lot to all of the family and myself. Folks who don't have furry family members really don't understand how much a part of our lives these little creatures become, each one different in his or her own ways.

Tish is proving especially hard as she was a rescue that we felt particularly responsible for, whom we rehabilitated over many years and because every time I went into the kitchen and went near food, as she became more socialized and less afraid, she'd walk in, sit down and politely ask if she might, please, have a bit to share. Or she'd sit on one of the compost bins (an old 5 gallon square lidded bucket) while a meal was being prepared and 'supervise,' never making a sound other than occasional purr, just being very pretty, regal and interested. I keep looking at her 'spots' out of reflex, thinking I'll see her there. I really miss her.

To honor our friends

Rescues often have the most to teach us about humility and generosity...
I help take care of a 21 cat colony of wild and abandoned Cats behind our Safeway.

Every Wednesday I bring 20 lbs. of dry food that goes in a container that the maintenance dude feeds them with on weekdays.

EVERY Saturday and Sunday AM since 12/04 I have been going there at dawn, rain or not to feed them.

I heat up 14 cans of wet food in an old toaster oven, enough for all.
On freezing mornings, I can tell you that this is a life saver for these forgotten souls.

My point, there are a few that step aside and let the more feeble members eat first, my self commitment to support them is renewed.

If only more people could be as big as these invisible spirits.

Craig, a sunset over Mount Tam. in honor your Momma Cat.

Hell Craig! I don't know you or your cat but here I am with the sniffles and wiping tears out of my eyes. I've lost a couple of pets too and it's a sad day when they leave us. At least you have great memories of her and hopefully other pets to love now that she's gone. The sadness is only there because you loved her and she loved you back. Not a bad thing.Take care. Pete

update on this springs kittens, the mom has the same parents as yeti cat, father of these kits ? she's not telling.. the kits do have a long siamese look in their faces.. running all over the place, so its getting time for these lucky ship's cats to find homes.. all males, one of the tigers is not poly, the other two have 7 toes on the fronts and 5 on the backs, fairly uncommon cats..

that guy is the normal footed one in the litter.. both tigers have great stripes(including belly spots) and should grow into stunning cats, very playful but gentle dispositions ..

Cinder at the pond. She did succeed in grabing a baby duck yesterday but didn't kill it. However the prognosis for the duck isn't good. Pete

thanks.

Lost the yellow in 08 and the choco in 2011.
still broken up over them being gone, ya know?

Both were only 8 and passed far to young.
one to a seizure and one to cancer.

BOTH were gentle and super playfull. Neither would hurt a flea unless they thought you were a threat to their family.

Hurley had big time Happy Tail. He'd clear off picture frames and knick knack off a coffee table or end table quicker than you could blink. LOL

Oh and I always warned buddies who came over to "cover up" because his happy tail swung far and wide and hard at just the right hight to bring a man to his knees. LOL!!!!

It has been just over a year since we lost our "Marty." I don't see how he will ever be replaced, but we did aquire a new dog Saturday while visiting family in Louisville, KY.

I had never seen the dog prior to picking him up, but got 5 hours of one on one time with him during our ride home. I was unsure if he would consider chewing on me so I had plenty of treats for him during our ride. Found out he is one sweet dog and look forward to spending many years with "Buddy."

I think "BUDDY" seems to be comfortable with you already
Our "TANK" (see above) was rescued from Kentucky also.We picked him up in Wheeling,WV, (after several shuttle hours from KY)several hours later (in SE PA) we arrived at home.WE ARE SO LUCKY HE FOUND US.
You will learn how lucky you are that "BUDDY" FOUND YOU.
BEST LUCK TO YOUR GROWING FAMILY.

PETE:
TANK IS NOT A BORDER COLLIE If you come across a border collie that is 72#,that can still walk, and not roll,I want to see him/her.
Now I like Border Collies and it is a compliment but they are not close in size.
TANK

Nothing there to gauge the size but I'd bet a dollar to a donut that dog has Border Collie in it.

Pete: the FBI crime lab cannot determine is genetic makeup. Coming from Kentucky nevermind. We have been told that he has Australian Shepherd(he does have droopy ears like an Aussie). Our vet thinks his short legs came from a Corgi. He has a lot of markings like a Border Collie. He has a paw that fills up my hand. One paw would be the size of all four on a Border Collie. His overall size comes from neither Border Collie ,Aussie ,Corgi and God knows what else, Burmese, has been suggested, making him larger than the aforementioned. We secretly believe that he is derived from all of these, and he got the best of each.
OBW
PS if anyone from Kentucky gets upset about what I said..... Lighten upit's just a joke.
