B50-15L is too mild. BL50-13L would be a better choice. Runs much better than B50-15L at 12 cell, and like a rocket on 14 cell. I still get 6+ minutes on 14 cells.

I run a 13L on 12 cells and get 6 min flights. I think it would be an even better motor on 14 cells, but I have too much invested in my 12 cell packs right now.

THe 15L would give longer flight times so if that is your goal it would be very nice. The 11L is used by the 3D hot shots at insane head speeds and they love it!!!

No right choice, no wrong choice they all will work fine depending on what style of flying you want.

Gary: I haven't heard anything, but I'll check around.

Most Sundays there is an informal fly-in at Speedworld in Bithlo. Lately there have been upwards of 20 flyers on a Sunday morning.

My error, leesburg not longwood I had it wrong

I'm familiar with the bithlo "monthly" gathering, but haven't driven up there in a long time. It's only 45~50 minutes from the house. Will have to make it up there sometime.

Ive been meaning to ask you if you think the GP3300 will be a good choice for my logo 10.

You told me how much you like these 2600 cells...nimh....sanyo?

But these GP3300s sound like they have low impedance, and very high capacity, and reasonable cost.

What do you think/know

thanks, Jim Dowdle

Also, Im still waffling on the Hacker....

I think im down to 14L or 15L

Im really an intermediate/sport flier at best, but would like to go inverted (on purpose) with enough power.

I think duration is my major interest, with some reserve power and enough to go inverted.

Also, Icare is suggesting HP220/30/A4 S P4 (Plattenberg) as more powerful/efficient than Hacker. I am inclined to stay with Hacker. Do you have any info on this motor?

I wouldn't recommend B50-15L. It was the original motor on my Logo 10, and it was really gutless even for hovering. And I don't believe my flight time was much longer than with the 13L.

I am very happy with my 13L, both on 12 and 14 cells. I am running CP2400 as well as HRSC2600. The HRSC2600 are excellent, I much prefer them over 2400 or 3000HVs.

Thanks,

Where do I get the flux capacitor?

Jim

PS: I appreciate your concern.

I guess I will stay away from the 15L

Would you say 14L or go to 13L.....

(I think I know you answer)

.....take off "like a rocket".......!

BTW, I think I have some experiece to know what you mean.....

I worried the C4012S - 14S for some time, then went with the 12S for my Corona.

It first it impressed me as very powerful. Now, it only takes off with any authority on a fresh charge. (7 cp2400's)

Hover times are down to 5 minutes.

I suspect the internal impedance of my batteries have increased.

But I am saying, glad I did not go with a 14S, as some recommended.........I would be grounded!

thanks again, Jim.

PS: Im getting a fresh set of batteries, as these were not, and going to 8 cells of GP3300, which reports are great on Corona.......but I think we hear initial reports, and I wonder if the batteries degrade quickly in this application.....

I use the B50 15L and I'm very pleased with it, in my Eco 8!

I hope that helps answer your question.

Another part of the answer of what Hacker to use is, which one can you find in stock vs how long in the backorder??????

I understand that they are as rare as "hens teeth" here in North America. What is the situation in Europe, does Hollein have any in stock?

I am using the Hacker 50 15L in my Logo 10 and it is FAR from gutless. I use a Hacker 48 3P Opto controller, (currently) a 16T pinion and am using 3300 NiMh 14 cell GP packs with excellent results. I am running the controller in governor/ timing mode 2 and am using a heat sink.
I get flight times of 9-10.5 minutes now on this combo and fly mild 3D, and a lot of backward and tumbling manuevers. I would not think that this qualifies as "gutless". I am going to go up in pinion teeth to try to get even more performance out of the 50 15L as it is running fairly cool with the heat sink and is still delivering 10 minute flight times doing moderate 3D!

Thanks Gary for the advice and tips! This combo is doing exactly as you said. You know your stuff!!!

Your configuration is the configuration I have been contemplating, but considering the advice above, I am waffling on the motor.

I was hoping for flight times like this. If you pull 20A from a GP3300, this is what you should get!

Would you concur with my dropping down to 14L to run the motor a little harder on this 14 cell voltage, or do you advocate sticking with 15L.

Since Stephen had problems with 15L, and yours is hot, I would guess it could be a diffenence in load friction (ie proper fudging with the tail drive gear, motor pinion, etc), or battery internal impedance......

Maybe I should go 14L as a hedge......

Or maybe Im just indecisive in my old age (ha)

?

thanks, Jim.
