F16A 90mm edf plug for composite fuse
I seem to have jumped deep into a project that is taking many more man hours than I had expected. It is an composite F16 for 90mm EDF. I have been working on the project for a few months now. A couple hours in the mornings before work. The CAD work and intitial plug construction went quickly. The project moves much more slowly when you get to the detail and finishing stage. I am probably still a month or two away from having a prototype ready for the test flight.
What do you guys think so far? Very rough shape carved out. |

sanded down more with some filler and the tail.

More sanding and filling. Added a layer of black pigmented glass to the tail. Inlet scoop added.

Tim H - Thanks. Looks almost as good as your MF480 F16. I have been following that thread also. Very nice work!
Unclejoe - I am considering maybe producing a limited number of kits. We will have to see how everything comes out first though. Kevin - Length is 51" nose tip to tail so it is slightly larger that the Jepe F16. It is about the same length as the Midi F18. It is a scale plan form. I have not enlarged the wings. I will use basicly the same airfoil as the Byron F16 for the prototype. It will be designed for ROG with EJF retracts. Thanks for the kind comments. Ted |
