SEFF combat!

While there has been some discussion about getting together and doing combat during SEFF, there has not been anything decided. Sooooo..... I was thinking that we should get together one day after the daily events close and have a combat session. What do you guys think?
What day should we do this on and what time is good for you?

I'm thinking Fri. around 7pm or so would be good..

Looks like I need to add one more build to the list Full contact carnage, or streamers? I have done combat once and I really sucked at it, but had lots of fun!

Hodges sells some combat kits that we all use. It is a depron wing style. We usually use SK motors to keep things nice an cheap.

The planes only take 1 hour to put together before you are airborne. The longest part is waiting for the glue to dry.

Repairs are easy. Some CA and kicker,or hot glue and you are ready for another fight.

I was doing some thinking this morning during the 75 mile ride to work, and came up with some ideas. Y'all let me know what you think.

1. First of all, if we do this we should make sure that all flying is kept out over the field and that it doesn't make it into the pilot areas or, heaven forbid, into the spectator areas. While this may seem to be a free-for-all, I think we should exercise some comon sense while doing this and try to make it as safe as possible.

2. I'd like to make this a little interesting and maybe ask for a $2 or $3 "combat fee" if you wish, with which we could do one of 2 things with, A. either give the pot to the last pilot in the air, or B. donate the pot to the SEFF charity that Mr. Meyers has designated.

3. Personally, I'd like to have full contact combat, but we have been known to tie streamers of toilet paper to the planes and use them as streamers. Since TP is bio-degradeable, Mac will allow the use of that on his field. (Of course, we should make an effort to clean our mess up too, but that helps with all the little pieces that get missed)

We should get together and set a time and day to do this, so we will all know where to meet and what to do.

Anyone think of something I missed? Anything to add?

I'm up for full contact combat also, but there should be a limitation on size or weight.

True,
I'm thinking about 16-18 oz would be the limit. That would allow most FFF or depron planes to participate...Of course, my combat plane has so much hot glue on it right now, it may be 16+

Heck, if it's over 10oz, I can bring the Combat Dart-Cub back out

I was just thinking of tearing the old girl down for a rebuild, since she's so heavy now... having come in 5th to 3rd in the last 4 big outings
