fly

Good instructions, you can open the viewer and use the web cam too.
I just got my replacement camera and all is well. I shot vidio for 30 min. and then cut it off. Still had 66 on camera. Did not get hot either. I just had a bad battery. No problem with the firmware either. Can't wait to put it on the plane and go.
Also if you ever get the battery too low to go to pc mode, it will charge on the wc mode too.

Fly

After all the headaches that I had, I figured that I would post a note to all explaining what I did to be very happy with my FCO2. My FCO2 now works flawlessly, I did expect it to be that way right out of the box when I recieved it, but stuff happens.

Depending on who or what you read and believe, It does only take about an hour to fully charge the FCO2 via the USB cable. If you check the battery level and it reads only "33", then connect it to your computer to recharge it. NOTE: when I use it with my attached 4.8v 2000mah battery, it will also charge the internal up as well.

I fly the FCO2 on a Sig Kadet Senoir power with a OS .61FX and haven't encountered any problems with it. However the vibration of the engine with the FCO2 frame rate of 25 fps is something that I can work around. The video taken while the FCO2 is mounted on the underside of the left tip of the Elevator on the Kadet sure does give a very good (awesome) view.

flyone

I too am now a happy camper, but what a trip.........
Their seems to be some problem with quality control .
The instructions need to be LARGER IN PRINT and clearer.
I think a lot of the problems people are having could be cleared up with better instructions.
I did not know what the base was for.....
No instructions at all for the web cam. I read some replys that they charged and got a few min. to sec. of record time. This is not good. My first charge I got half hour with 66 per cent left. I think they are having many battery problems. It should charge in about 1 1/2 hours, not 3. If you are getting run times below 15 min. send it back. A lipo will improve some in performance, thats some , not a lot.
Their readme file has 2 different load instructions for the firmware.
I load a lot of programs on my computer and I feel I know a lot about my computer, but I was lost for a while.
At least the people at Hobby Lobby did the right thing and sent me a new camera.
I feel sorry for people who get this camera who are not tech. savy.
The sad thing is this is a great camera for the price and has nice features.
Thank goodness for places like this.... otherwise I would be lost.
Thanks for everyones help and I hope I helped somewhat too.

Replaced

I received my replacement camera today from Hobby Lobby. It's perfect and of course the battery was at fault. Just waiting for the shutter trigger from Jason who is in England. Was mailed this Monday.

I want to thank Hobby Lobby again for quick response to my battery problem.
Three days to my home and sending bad one back to them tomorrow.

Yep, they seem to have a problem with the battery on these.
I love mine now that the battery is taken care of.
Whats this trigger? Have not heard about it. Is flyone makeing them or is this someone who just makes them up for sale?

i tried one of these out in my nitro heli for the first time yesterday. I tried to take 3 videos. and each of them stopped after only about 15 seconds. Not even enough time to get the heli in the air. The card is 2 gigs and pretty much empty. I thought the battery was pretty full. and I took some video in my house afterwords that lasted much longer. can vibration be causing this to turn off? Ill try recharging and firmware upgrade. I hope I can get this problem to go away.

Shutter Trigger

Question from sanman55

This is the site where I purchased it. Received it today. Looks good. Ready to try it out. Took only 5 days from England.

Since I never got a response to this question, I thought I'd bump it up. Does anybody have any mounting tips?

Mounting bracket

The bracket to mount - push down - long end towards lens - then slide up toward lens. You will get a definite snap when it locks in. To take out push down then back. A few people are breaking them either by not doing it correct or they just break.

WOW! ... now that is SWEET! ... I wish my Canon SD850 did that ... loaded the new firmware and UE shut off problem seems to be fixed now. Gotta play with it a bit more ... wonder if they can add a flip 180 degree option to adjust for mounting upside down. I'm using some simple packing foam and some velcro straps to hold it in place ... Have to use VirtualDub filters to flip it 180 degrees with no strange optical issues shooting upside down. A definite improvement over the FCOv1.
