I ordered one from hobby lobby. At the 2 weeks mark which is crazy long. I could drive to hobby lobby in 8 hours.

They responded with:

Your order was shipped via USPS International Airmail Service on 3/21. That service can take up to 40 days to deliver sometimes, although we don't expect those kind of delays. There's no valid tracking number available for this method of shipping. If you still have not received it after those 40 days have passed, please check with your local post office/customs office to see if they're holding your package for any reason.

I checked with the post office and they cant track anything unless I have a tracking #. They said contact the sender to get tracking. Customs office? No idea how to contact them.

So I contacted hobby lobby again to have them track. No response yet.

So I look at international shipping by usps and basically it appears to be like 10 days max on the estimates.

I feel like I'm being jacked around here.

It displays WC when connected to the computer. It doesnt matter if it is in the on or off position, either way when I plug it into the computer it brings up WC in the display. When it is not connected to the computer it does nothing when switched to the on position. I have tried leaving it connected to the computer (3+ hrs.) to see if it needed to be charged but this has done nothing to change the situation.

So, you don't get anything in the display at all when switching it on without it connected to the computer? If that's the case, it sounds like the internal battery may be defective.

That's correct. Nothing. So I thought it needed to be charged. You may be right about the battery. Guess I better send it back.

Much thanks for your response and input.

Well I got the product today. It's shipped from sweden. No wonder it takes a billion years to travel.

You need to set it up to "PC" mode, turn it off and plug it to the computer. Then only will it be recognized as another drive.

Firmware ver. 3.01

I have loaded up the new firmware from www.flycamone.com

Here is what I have observed so far;
- The "Vd mode" (for recording in dark environment) works see video
FlyCamOne2 Firmware 3.03 (5 min 10 sec)
It was cloudy/hazy at 6:30AM this morning
- Push shutter button on "RY" status twice, does turn video recording orientation 180º
- 99-full/66-2/3full/33/1/3full/CH (My Flycam can only display 66,33,CH, I haven't been able to show 99(fully charged)
- I was shooting a video and the battery ran out and turned off the cam, to my surprise it saved the last video shoot.

thought I'd share this to the community

Ah, good point. I had forgotten about the little detail of having to press the button after turning on the switch. Sorry about that, Forrest.

Has anyone tried to update the firmware? I can't seem to do this. As I understand it, you are suppose to press and hold the mode key as you connect to the computer. I get an error when I do this. Then when you try to run the firmware update, I get a message that the camera could not be initialized.

The camera seems to connect fine when you connect in PC mode. The firmware update, however, doesn't work in this mode.

One additional thing I noticed is that the audio seems slightly ahead of the video (reminds me of the old King Kong movies).

Any ideas?

George

It mostly works just fine. The only things missing are a webcam driver and a firmware updater.
