Guillows kit # WW6 Sopwith Camel.
This series of 18" span WWI model kits was discontinued long ago. I'm building a reproduction from Aero-werks. I plan on a series of these WW models powered by the PZ um 8.5 mm motor on a single cell and controlled by an AR6400 brick.
Not sure if this qualifies, but here it is if you decide to include it.

I just purchased a DC-3. Has anyone completed and maidened one? I know it was intended to be a display model but I hope to make it fly.

he fellows,

i don't have a build thread yet but did start the large sopwith camel a few days ago. i can't sit for extended periods due to difficulties with my back so i didn't want to put anybody to sleep with a slow thread! but, i am documenting with pictures and will start a thread towards the end of the build.

years ago i built many guillows kits and even flew a bunch of them via control line and cox 049 motors. but, this will be my first r/c conversion. i've got a pretty good stack of these kits (larger cessna, nib p39 arrving on wednesday-purchased off ebay, the large scale dauntless to name a few) for when the camel is done. i've read through many of the conversion threads here. great information posted by wonderful hobbiests!

Hi Rob, welcome my friend you have found the therapy room. There Is no such thing as a boring conversion thread. Please do create a thread. You may be surprised others will keep you motivated and even suggest ways to overcome the back pain challenge. One or two of us suffer similar minor inconveniences like this as there isthe odd relc amongst us heh heh . Phil

I am shortly going to start a build of a FW 190 , kit #502, and I'd like some votes please, on covering methods. I know that there are hundreds of build threads linked in the first post but for laziness' sake, can some of you just let me know what you did to cover the airframe? I have three ways I'm considering going with it.

1. tissue treated with wbpu, 100% airbrush paintjob
2. monokote or ultracote covering, finished with airbrush job
3. 1mm depron skin, filled with thinned lightweight spackle, sealed with wbpu, airbrush paintjob

It is going to be powered by a UMX Beast 3d AS3X brick with a 2s brushless motor, either an 1811 turnigy or an E-Flite BL 180. I hope to add some tiny retracts to it, and 4 channel control. Feedback please?

Smokin' Beaver: If you believe this doesn't belong here, feel free to remove this post. I wasn't sure where else to put it so if I'm in the wrong here, let me know via PM so I can fix it; I don't want to step on any toes.

Thanks
~Ben
