Problem with big 4WD's is they never seem to smash into test barriers like they show on TV, its always some poor bastard in his Hyundai or Mazda 3 that gets clobbered by the mum with one had on the phone and the other waving around in the air as she describes the hellish day she's had at the haidressers

Ugh, large 4x4's (as apposed to all-wheel-drive sedans/coupes) are a real bone of contention with me. They're making driving a lot less safe around town because you cannot see around them, try pulling out of a parking space when you've got an oversized 4x4 blocking your view and no mirrored surfaces to help you see down the road. I dare say that the bulk of 4x4's haven't seen much more action than hopping a few gutters.

I know we all have the right to purchase a vehicle that we want - but something needs to be done about the 4x4 luxury (?? they're ugly ??) vehicle market. Vans at least are a bit better for they usually have windows at the same level as a sedan.

It's pretty bad around here being a bit of a country town - I'd say that 50% of the vehicles here are in the oversized 4x4 catagory.

Odysis,

I think your 0-100km/hr time is off. It's more like 1.1~1.3 seconds with most good bikes

Paul,
That's me on the bike, not a real rider! 3g's is a bit excessive, even for me! (unless it's around 500' or so up!)

Troy,
Ya wins some, ya loses some!

It's a bit insane really isn't it... first gear and you cannot red-line without breaking all the speed laws.

Just flicking through today's news paper, there is an article about the new Holden coupe 60. The article finishes off with mention of the new HSV. It will be the most powerfull car produced in Australia, 370kW 7 Litre V8! Sounds like fun

Good ride in a ford falcon...hah! Give my my mother in laws old corolla any day! Admittedly said corolla was a 2 door FX-GT that lived on New Zealand roads, now that was a great car to take to Rotorua for a day

Gawd, just looked up the redbook price for my mitsubishi, it's bad enough after I got fleet discount on it, I'd be crying if I had paid full retail for it.

I got a bit carried away with all the evil blue oval talk .

I'm a red lion person like you, though at the moment I drive a 2.4l 5 speed manual lancer which gets me 10l/100Km in the city .
