The terrain is Godforsaken, hardly anything growing on those rocky mountains. The elevation must be fairly high. Stay safe!

This is from one of the first blogs about Laine being over there.....

We are at 5000 feet when we are on the ground here in Bagram, Afghanistan. So, you can imagine what its like goin over those mountains!

There is only a small MANPAD threat here so we dont worry too much about that. The primary threat is small arms (AK-47) and RPG's. They also have a few Anti Aircraft guns laying around, but not too many.

As for altitude, Bagram (home) is at 5000 feet MSL (Like Kmopar said). That pass we were flying through is at about 8000 feet MSL. We stay below 500 feet AGL 99% of the time though. (that means, we are low and fast all the time).

Laine.

Very cool stuff. Yeah, go very fast...

A guy at work was a crew chief on an Apache in Iraq. He tells me about heli's. I tell him about rc heli's. He knows more than me.

Wow, great pics as usual. I check everyday for more images from you & the crew. Thank you again. Curious about the 1 picture that looks like a walled compound with 2 doorways & nothing inside. What is it?

Stay safe..
