Tumbler,
Thanks for the quick reply. A minifan impeller is the same size as the HET I beleive so that would work also. I'm hoping to keep the AUW at 40oz or less. If so, I can use an HET 2W motor & 3s 4400 packs. Thanks again, Mark |

I don;t think it would be a problem even at a higehr weight than that. My HET sniper weighed more than that and only had a 30inch wingspan. This is a much bigger plane. I am using a 4s 3850 and adding retracts. I know it won't be a problem.
Clipped wing sniper clear coated with automotive clear... a wopping 46ozs. It flys fast and still slows down for a landing at less than a 30inch span. The Hawk will float in for landings with a 3s 4400. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...mentid=1292604 Tumbler Quote:

Nitro,
I know...what have I gotten myself into haha. Lavochin LOL, well all I can say is...you won't regret it. I am super picky with these planes and in most cases strip them and re-paint/cover. However, this one is perrfect the way it is. Only thing I am doing is the retracts. I am going to pull some covering and sheeting off the bottom of the wing and see what I have to work with. i would like to get the gear near its scale position. Here are a couple pics of the Jetlegend Turbine T-45 I found online. I would like to get the gear somwehere around this position if I can. Tumbler Last edited by Tumbler; Feb 27, 2008 at 04:35 PM. |

Now see thats how these edf's should come exactly like those pics!!! If you want the retracts than its as simple as slapping them in if not dont. That looks great. I just ordered set #2 of the MAP retracts for this also. You started the forest fire Tumbler!

Tumbler,
Thanks for the input. I order one today from EJF. My fields mostly grass so retracts are a no go. The bungee will do the trick nicely. -Mark |

Racebelly,
I fly off grass too. Here is pusher jet that is 39" just like the Hawk, but weighs a wopping 6lbs! It actually flys off grass just fine. I will be using the same size wheels on the hawk. So it can be done! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=767484 Tumbler |

Cool video.
Your field is much smoother than mine. I fly at a middle school and sometimes it's a month or two between mowings. Other times it's every week. We do takeoff & land 3d and aerobatic planes off of it. But, they takeoff and land at much slower speeds. I'm cool with the bungee. It's pretty easy to setup. -Mark Quote:
