Weight savings of T-rex carbon frames over alu / plastic frames?

I have a T-rex 450SA so it comes with aluminum frames stock. I'm wondering, how much the stock align carbon frames that come with SE or S models offer weight savings (if any) over my aluminum frames or plastic XL frames for that matter.

Has anyone compared the two frames yet? I'm building an AP ship out of my T-rex, so any weight savings is a plus .

Are you serious???? I was assuming carbon frames would be anywhere from 10g to 40g lighter... guess I'll be keeping my aluminum frames then.

I see. I didn't know there were GF frames available for T-rexes so I assumed it was a typo.

Back to the topic, anyone wants to chime in?

He may of meant graphite frame. Which would be what us Americans call carbon. The other would be g10 which is about as light as carbon, but not as stiff.

Ali is lighter than the CF frames and the GF. Bends good when you play lawn darts though.

To clear things up, its a G10 Glass fibre frame. So this is about the same weight as a carbon frame then? As i said i want it straight, my aluminium frame flew great but looked like a banana when i took it off!

I have just recieved a new S kit with GF frame & to me this frame felt amazingly light compared to my Alu frame. I'm considering using this frame on my old rex in the airwolf coz that would benifit from a bit of weight loss more than just a stock rex. Also i would prefer a bend that can be straightened than just a break.

I think the only real benefit of CF over an aluminium part is it`s rigidity and strength.
As p4ddy says you can always try and straighten an ali` part though..

Funny I'm thinking about getting a CF or GF frame for my Dragonus because it gets bent in a crash... Nothing worse than non-straight frames....

When I ordered the Hoss kit I got the G10, because it gives a little unlike CF yet it remains straight.
