Kadet Senior ailerons? flaps?

I decided to go "bigger is better" rather than with the seniorita/LT-25. Will make a bigger splash my glow-only club.

Other than makeing it a tail-dragger, should I consider ailerons and flaps?

Anyone made these mods? Any info?

TIA
Wes J.

He might be busy and miss your question, so here's what has to be "Kadet Central"
http://home.networkone.net/~pjburke/kadets.htm

We had one in our group a while back. AF40G, 20 or 24 cells and a couple pounds extra ironmongery in the wings to make them two piece. Never dared weigh the thing, but it still flew just great. Durn thing made some parkfliers look frantic the way it shambled across the sky. It was so easy to fly, we got the owner's wife flying it around one day, she couldn't spell 'aircraft' but had no problems doing figure eights.

Bet you get lots of input on this one.

Regards

Dereck

I've found a "normal" Senior Kadet can handle an -extra- 15 pounds!
Our twins at 12-13 pounds are reluctant to land. Glide forever.
Flaps are at: http://www.angelfire.com/indie/aerostuff/kadetflaps.htm
had to move it due to lack of space at "Seriously.."

Sparky, your "flaps" page cannot be found at this moment by my computer, using the URL you posted.

wesdjohn: I have a Kadet Senior with extended wing: 91 inches; uses Aveox 1406 4/y with planetary gearbox and 21 Sanyo 2000 cells. Weight is 9 pounds on wheels, 11 pounds on floats. Wing and tail are covered in transparent red Monokote; fuse is grey.

I have yet to finish the nacelles for the other wing: Twin motors; flaps; barndoor ailerons; will use 28 cells running 14 for each motor, probably separately wired and using controllers on each MaxCim. Weight will increase from 9 pounds on wheels to right at 10 pounds, but weight doesn't matter that much with it, as it thermals now at 9 pounds...makes my neck sore!

Go for it - it is a blast to drop flaps in a light breeze, and fly backwards.

Terry
