Good beginner jet

Not the GWS A4, not because of the kit itself. The A4 has a tendancy to do a very fast left snap/torque roll to the left when you get too slow and add the power too fast. The GWS15 I have is a floater very easy to fly and slow approach speeds and very benign stall. However, dry fit your components for CG and do not use GWS speed controls on this. and get the 20mm heatsinks for the motors.

IMHO, even though it is a foamy, the Phase 3 Fantom is a good one to start with. There are a few threads in the foam section.

Maybe you should pick up a pusher jet to start...YBRC F-22 with a 2200kv motor on 3s is fast and fun... but if you want an EDF then I would say the HL F-18... she flys great stock and you can upgrade her later for more speed.

I ditto Dizz,
Phase 3 Fantom is the way to go especially if you are coming from gliders.
It flies very gentle and easy, gentle stall (just mushing nose down), did not try to thermal her but I bet it is possible!

Multiplex Twister - made of crash-resistant Elapor (EPP) foam.

Agree - get a wing or pusher first to get used to no airflow over the surfaces.

Yeah I'd go with that if I were you. It's a good flyer and if you get in trouble just cut the throttle it has a gooood glide rate. You'd be used to that.
