they call MICRO gas powered 8.2kg (18lb) aircraft ?
Israel used similar things 40 years ago.

i guess micro is now 18lbs yes.....my 2lb slowstick must be nanoscopic or something i dont know

Yes, I posted a link over at the RCAPA site, I try to do the same with all FAA, and UAV/UAS related stories. I really hope that they do a better job with the PR then LA county Sheriff, or the HPD, as both of those instances in my estimation were media disasters. The next battle that looms is the public acceptance of having their privacy invaded from low altitudes. Lets just hope the two battles (regulatory and public acceptance), don’t overlap.

I can see a few reasonable uses for this widget (S.W.A.T. actions?) but routine us in urban areas seems nuts.

The engine out handling would be about the same as an 18lb, 50 kt., trashcan full of rocks and gasoline.
