Tomahawk

A few photos of the Tomahawk from Zdenek Jesina.

Comments:

1) Fit and finish is at or near the top of the heap.
2) Wiring harness already installed.
3) Antenna is also preinstalled
4) Included are beautiful quilted wing/fuse/stab bags
5) Ballast tube is the same as in the Stratos-DS (1.5kg of tungsten)
6) Wing is thin (368's bulge in both flap and aileron bays)
7) Stabs have asymetrical holes which allow an incidence change when flipped over. (I guess this is for if you prefer to have the CG change when loaded with ballast)

All in all, a very sharp looking ship!

Sam

If that foil (DP isn't it?) is anything like the one on the Ceres, you're going to like that plane, Sam.

Too many nice planes to pick from these days!

I hope the dollar gets stronger.

Have fun with it.

Target

PS. the Airtonics servos are just a bit thinner than the 368's; maybe those would be a flush fit?

Sweet, I hope someone in Socal gets one so I can take it for a spin on the speed course.

That thing looks fast just sitting there. The tail doesn't look small either, so it should handle well. I am glad to here Jessina has a new model, his planes have always been art.

I just assembled the TOMAHAWK for photos and will have pics on my website soon. It's beautiful , and my reaction is the same as recorded in the posts above.

The layup of the wing is VERY meticulous....the pre wire makes life easy, and the ballast tube, servo tray carbon layup is a work of art (nope not 2.4 friendly..guess you'll just have to use that Airtronics STYLUS). Airtronics 761's fit on both aileron and flap bay, but on the aileron there is a bubble on the flap cover, which makes the servo a bit more removable..but they can be pushed forward under the skin, and create a flatter build.

The wing planform has a lot of simliarity to Philip Kolbs SkyMax 4...and none to the Crossfire..the airfoil (DP is Dirk Pflug ..thanks lubos) appears VERY agressive, but with fairly generous tip area for hard bank and yank. The model has very current..possibly forward thinking on design. Will be amazing in F3F and F3B. Overall...beautiful!
Oh, and I do have them in stock!

Here is some more Tomahawk info from my friend Francois who made the molds....
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...light=tomahawk

He also makes our Wasabi..

This model was originally a 1pc wing. I had Jesina make it a 3pc wing, so it would be a little more friendly for transport!

Best,
Bob

Perhaps, but it would be hard/expensive to ship a one-piece 3+ meter wing.

Hi Lubos,

Thanks for the airfoil clarification. In the US DP is Daryl Perkins. Now we all know. As I mentioned earlier, the planform on wing is very similar to Kolbs SkyMax 4..but the airfoil is significantly different ..and the interesting thing is both models really go in speed and distance! same result, different models.
