Kokam 2-cell packs in parallel

I've noticed that some people use 2x2 Kokam 1020's with dual connectors. I was wondering if it's ok to do this if they won't always be used together. If I use them separately, say in 2 different planes, after I charge them can I put them in parallel again in a plane that uses more current, like my Sukhoi? Will I risk damaging one of the packs?

Should be fine as long as you charge the packs separately after being used in separate planes. All cells want to be at the same voltage when charging begins and Li Poly are the most sensitive to this.
