StarMax FA-18

I ordered this from Hobby Lobby as a RTF..removed the stock radio which works fine and installed a DSM AR6000 rx with a Park SBEC. Other wise its stock..Its my best EDF plane.

Hey 3d..they are not perfect but for the PNP version, around $200.00, they are pretty good. I think a lot of people were expecting more for that price but in reality, its pretty darn good..I did not like the charger that came with it..other than that its pretty good. Now some guys were flying the out of the plane and were having problems...Its not really designed for WOT operation, and if thats the way you fly then it may not be the plane for you. The ESC is the problem they say as it may overheat if run WOT for the whole flight. wait a minute I will find a post that sums it up..BRB..check this post...

No need to change out the ESC..Some people were saying they were having problems and I think it has to do with the climate..were you live..no worries. If you really want to make sure nothing can go wrong, install a Switch BEC..if you check that thread link it shows how to do it.http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=855520

Battery on Zero

Can you let me know of your final location of the battery? Where did you place it and what was modified.

My son and I (by chance and luck) are the owners of 4 World Models Zeros. We were only able to fly our first for a short time before crashing (flew with out a BEC - lesson learned). Once repaired the motor mount broke on taxi. We are trying to get a second zero in the air, but I wanted your thoughts on battery location and we will setup for 64mm COG.

Any other adviice?

Thanks,
-RJ
