Good deal or Rip off?
I went to the local Hobby Store and saw this deal: A Yak 55 by electrifly www.electrifly.com/parkflyers/gpma1274.html, S3114 futaba servos, EFlight 370 Outrunner (1080kv), 3 cell 1450 mAH LiPo, an ESC and a 6EX Futaba RX with the TX. All For $275. The plane itself had been hanging for quite a while so the fuselage is a little warped because it is made of that flight-flex stuff. So I had them throw in another Yak 55 kit (plane only), and just call it $300. I think the plane is junk but I wanted to know:
a. Was it worth the price? b. Has anyone flown the Flex-Flight Yak 55? Thanks |

I own one and it flew but not very well. I have probably 50 flights on it. I was pretty hard on it and I was a pretty raw 3D flyer but looking back I should have started 3D flying with a 3D Hobby Shop product like this: http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/detail.aspx?ID=1996
However, every plane is fun and something can be learned from every flying exsperience, some just more so than others. Let it lay around a couple days and the fuselage it will return to the correct shape. That EPP is pretty crazy stuff. |
