Multiplex Blizzard

Check out the MPX website for more info on this 1.3m elapor hotliner.

looks cool eh?
more info here:
http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php/topic,48469.0.html

should be a nice plane if the easy glider is a yard stick. seems like mpx are pulling out the stops in '08. not sure what the PCM thing is about though.

We'll see what the price is; hopefully it's similar but not more than the Easy Glider. It would be great to use something like this as a "one design" racer; either this one or the Windrider Fox as they are both very inexpensive yet they should have pretty spirited performance even when built stock.

I think it's unique looking but still nice and streamlined. Obviously, they had to beef up certain areas for stiffness because it's made of Elapor (tail boom) and the nose is a bit blunt by today's standards, but that's OK with me; I still like it.

If they did could you imagine the twisted planes they'd build? They'd better take sensiblenick so we could be sure nothing would actually be finished...

Would the glider version be legal for BMFA 60" racing?

Good question - looks like it would - unless the glider version also has a hard nosecone. Could probably easily be modded to make it "legal" - could also of course add reinforcement for "ding proofing". already has ballast provision cos of the battery pack space.

That would depend on a few details like the first 1.5" of the fuz being foam etc. but I imagine there's a good chance it will.

Moulded EPP (/Elapor) models are great. The outer skin seems to work wonders for stiffness and of course the aerofoil will be true as long as the moulding is good and there's no reason to expect that it won't be.

Can I ask where the ballast goes? Maybe there's recess under the wing.

Steve

EDIT OK - Right you are Phil.
