New Multiplex Parkmaster 3D, Profile Acromaster?
I just say that the new Multiplex stuff was posted in another thread, and thought this topic deserved it's on place here.
http://www.modellbauknaller.de/mpx2008.pdf The specs mean it's a bit smaller than the Acromaster...(got the metric translation from Google) Acromaster Specs: Wingspan: 43" (1095mm) Wing Area: 557.27 sq in (36.6 sq dm) Weight: 32-36oz (907-1020g) Wing Loading: 8.19 oz/sq ft (25 g/sq dm) Length: 45.25" (1150mm) Parkmaster Specs: Wingspan: 38.58" (980mm) Wing Area: 449.50 (29 sq dm) Weight: 18.34oz (520g) Wing Loading: 5.89 oz/sq ft (18 g/sq dm) Length: 39.37" (1000mm) But the shape of the new airplane really looks like a profile Acromaster. I'm a big Multiplex fan, and I'm sure looking forward to this new release! |

I have an Acro Master as my first Multiplex aircraft. It is in need of a diet of a TP "EXTREME" lipo, as it has a total weight of 42 oz. I'm going to e-mail Hitec RCD/Multiplex USA and find out what the deal is, and what an expected release date will be.

Definite winner. You have to admire how clever Multiplex are. Have been quite a few EPP and depron small profile models over the years but with the advantages of Elapor and the usual attention to design and ease of construction this is bound to be a winner. If they price it right...maybe 40GBP to 50GBP it will sell like proverbial hot cakes...
...Jurgen usually chimes in on anything Multiplex related...think he gets the inside story somehow...maybe he can tell us when it'll be released... |

Hitec e-mailed me back, and said to ask again in about a month for more information. They said that the models in the pictures are the ONLY models right now.

A month...that's an eternity in the life of a RC flier...don't they understand the stress of advertising something and then not actually selling it for several weeks...ugh

Multiplex sells a brushless kit for this airplane now..

"Multiplex is pleased to announce the expansion of our Brushless Motor Controller line. The latest and smallest addition is the MultiCont BL-17, seventeen amp ESC. This new unit is based off the popular Castle Creations Thunderbird 9 (Updated version) but with upgraded FET’s to handle a true 17A continuous current." Also, I've been looking at other motors in this range that may be good choices. Some are about 20g lighter than the Himax... Hacker A20-22L Hyperion Z2213-24 Torque 22T/930 Hobby City KDA20-22L Any other likely candidates? |

I'm going to use a Scorpion 2215-18 in mine. 200 watts and $45 should be a great candidate for this plane.
