I wonder if there will be less of the Lama Glitch-Twitch with the 2.4 ghz stuffs...

I just found out im fine with the 72mhz. That i just orderd. Im getting that and a whole lot of mods with shipping for cheaper anyway. o well.

Ya! At two 72 MHz heli's for the price of one 2.4 I'm likeing my 72 a lot better too.

You might want to keep an eye on the metal "upgrade" parts as they seem to cause more trouble then they're worth in a lot of cases so it seems. The only E-Sky upgrade part I bought was the swashplate and the center brass bushing keeps popping out of course while in flight; there's $17 down the tubes and back to the stocker that was working perfectly fine to begin with; argghh...

I look forward to a full report once your your Lama arrives; DealExtreme for your extra batteries and more durable black blades, rchelicoptershop.com for your Harden blades which have been the best for my Lamas (and stockpile of spare stock parts, inner shafts, skids, etc) and enjoy!

....but its around $100 more than non 2.4ghz...

Yea im getting a blue 72mhz lama from cy model for $102 with free ship and i think im going to scratch the metal upgrades. Im getting indestructable skids and a set of hard blades off of lamav4.com for $25 and 2 extra lipos for $20 off ebay. all together it comes out to $150! Its $70 dollers cheaper than a stock blade cx2. I think i might also buy 40 blades off ebay (stock ones) for $20 or so , so i dont wreck my hard blades when i first fly it. Im going to check out dealextreme for batterys and the harder black blades. I will keep you informed!

2.4 ghz is only worth it if you are flying with a lot of other people. Hardly seems worth twice the price.

now i see why the blade is so much. because of the TX

I'm kind of excited about the 2.4 release. I was looking into the possibility of converting one anyways. There's a club field about 1/4 - 1/2 mile behind my house and I was a little concerned about dumping someones plane or worse for me, having my heli go nuts in the living room .I was just about to pull the trigger and get a 72mh at helidirect ( a 45 min ride from my house ) when they advised me they would be getting the 2.4's soon. I guess it will be another week or so before the crashing begins.

I actually prefer 2.4ghz ..i have CX2 and HBFP converted to Spektrum 2.4 ghz ...but that websites pricing structure is just out of touch
i saw a walkera 5G6 where the 72mhz version is $69 and the 2.4ghz at $89....now thats more like it!!

That price of 159.00 also included some extra spare parts as a starter kit.

Admittedly it's a small thing, but I really like the short length of the antennas on the 2.4gHz radios.

At some point, it may be the only model offered. So we might as well just get used to it.

Well like anything else, give it a bit of time and that price will decrease... Sounds groovy to me, lucky for me the cheap 72 mhz's are working fine (thus far anyway) but good to see there will ultimately be an E-Sky option for 2.4 ghz.

So please educate me; the 2.4 ghz Tx/Rx setups have a 'set channel' (say 62) but they further narrow their communications with one another so that if someone else switched on another Tx on channel 62 this would NOT 'stomp' your communications and wreck your helo??
