www.hannaboats.com

John Hanna is the AMYA Class Secretary for the N12M, and also one who has done his level best to make the boat available through his "one stop shop." I purchased mine as a "semi-kit," from John, including Rod Carr sails. I'm happy to answer any questions about the boat/build.

As of this edit date, John Hanna no longer sells a kit, nor has his web-site. The molds have been turned over to the Class, with Don Dixon, of the Helmsmen MYC, Long Beach, CA., as Class Secretary.

Here are some pics taken this am.

The winch is an Ozmun W-12 Sail Control Unit.

Ozmun Design R/c Model Yachts
3608 Fox Rd
Huron, OH 44839

Ph: 419-433-3025

They manufacture this winch in two levels of quality, i.e., standard, and also one with more durable bearings.

Here's a couple more pics as it sits alongside the EC12.

Newport 12M in its element

An absolutely glorious day to sail! My wife and I visited some friends, who live on a lake below the crest of a mountain...of course I had to bring a boat along.

The almost rarefied air, clean water glistening off the Interlux one-part polyurethane paint, 2 to 7 kts of breeze, too much!

The Newport never fails to bring folks out of their homes. Some come over and take their turn at the sticks. We were on the water for a full 3 hours, thoroughly enjoying every second.

Great job on the N12M, and what a beautiful lake. I bet it is full of 10 lb trout. Can it get any better?

Don and Ed, thank you. Ed, it couldn't get any better. The EC-12 usually answers the call, since it's easier to transport, while sailing the Newport just a couple of times a year. For those times, I'm reminded just how great a sailor it is, and resolve to get it back on the water, soon!
