Hello Gang,

I have a Sherline 5400 mill that I have had for a few years. It's in great shape but I've just never used it. I'm looking to sell it but am unsure on what price to list. The thing is pretty sturdy so shipping isn't going to be cheap.

Price would depend on what tooling came with it. I had one of these, and loved it. I did sell it after I got a bigger mill, but sorry to say, I can't remember for how much. An old age thing! LOL

It's a really nice unit and I'm not sure I really don't want to part with it, but with two kids (3.5 and 1.5yrs old) I don't see a lot of time/money left to start to learn how to 'mill' my own parts.

The unit has the drill chuck attachment, one head, and the mill vise / table. That's all I got with the mill when I acquired it.

I'm thinking someplace around $450.00 - $500.00? Plus shipping?

Seems like they go for $1100.00 new, plus shipping.

I'll get some photos of mine and post 'em up here tonight.

I'll start playin' the lottery so I can be rich and give ya an offer! I would fairly say 1/2- 2/3 original cost-- OR maybe we could start a Milling thread. Personnally, if I had something like that "laying" around, I would oil it up really well, and put an AC winter cover type doo-dad over it for when the candle burns brightley!

Thanks for the link! I couldn't find accurate pricing. The 5100 sells for $650.00. The one pictured is a 5400.

I looked up the price for the 5400 with the drill chuck and mill vice. The mill itself goes for $775.00, the mill vice, chuck, go for another $150.00 or so. So - a total of $925.00 + bit. Actual price is closer to 1000.00 (not the original $1100.00 I stated.)

So - with that factual information - would $450.00 - $500.00 be a suitable price for used equipment?

Seems like my pricing was spot on - or a bit low.

Thanks again for the link to an on-line price. For some reason I couldn't locate it when I looked. We'll see if it pans out. I'd love to have the skill and time to learn to use it, but the little ones seem to eat into my free time.
