we dont use rudder on the one Clausxpf desinged ..track real well ...just cant see it due to the green color

i now have a lower pitch fan rotor from Gary at Efflux R/C to see if i can find a better 4s-5s set up .so i need to pull the fan and ESc and get some numbers.

did some testing out of the plane with the low pitch rotor on 4s and 5s ...the number were about 10% less amps ....with a few percent of watts lost ...so im putting the fan back in the airframe for testing .the super long ducts (22+") may cause the numbers to riase...well see.

numbers did not change much ,amps when up like 2 on 4s and 3 on 5s ...that could just be the batts. so the fan does'nt seam to mind the long ducts ...neither did the WM400 it worked well with the long ducts too.

thats why i did it .....flight time were good with the WM400 and the JS1400 motor.but the sound was causing proplem at my home field and that is why i change to the Garys Efflux R/C /Mach fan i have 4s and 5s batts so i looked for a motor that i thought would be good .so i chose the mega 3700 kv motor ....my batts were using 4000 mah in a 3 min flight and on 5s it was causing lvc or over temping ..not sure .so Gary had Mach work one of the fans into a lower pitch. it does'nt look like too much od a difference but the blades are not as wide and the air foil is thinner.also it has a hollowed out spinner...all to make a lighter rotor for more rpm. so hoping to see the mah used get back to where i was.i think on 5s it will fly pretty good ...4s might be a bit lazy for the weight of this plane ....a lighter plane should fly very well .i expect a bit more thrust at low speed just not sure what top speed would be .i have a 2.2 tail pipe so that is not for top speed either.hope to fly it at the buttonwillow Jet openhouse at the end of the month.

Air Sally here is my scratch built with not enough power . They dubbed it the unbreakable jet as it bounces on landing !

Air Sally ; C of G ahead of the step in the delta,weighed in at 1300g without the battery.(Too much epoxy and Glass) The Eflite delta 70mm and 3600 motor didn't cut it. I may take out my thrust tube as it was very agressive and test again . For sure I needed a little more blast to keep it on plane. I may take the entire unit out and install the e jets 80mm and a 6 s setup.With almost 3KG of thrust it will stay up !

Retested with no thrust tube, results very much similar. I still need more power. Meanwhile the MBS models Draken is nearing completion, and it is much lighter.I think your model would be perfect for a 70mm EPO foamie. Do you have any plans to go further?

i only have the skills to have it done in fiberglass. unless some company would ask Claus for his drawings to do it in foam .i may make molds from mine to do a composite version ...but i still have a day job and several other projects to finish first.

Rocket boy and others.
the ducts that rodger have done from my drawings, for the draken are for "jet" speed. the intake that the MBS have done kills all the speed, too short and too hard angles for the intakes.
my xps foam glassed model with intake ducts made for me by "airsally" will be maiden shortly.
mine will fly on wm 400 fan and a 2900 kv velocity motor on 6 S 3300 mAh
it will be flown at the 5. jet meeting in Denmark june together with 4or 5 other models from my hand.

Sweet cant wait for the flight report ...that velocity 6s WM400 set up is going to be awsome you will have a lot of power .i strip a servo gear on mine ...brand new Hitec's so im having to put in the third set of elev. sevos ....first one were sloppy,and would'nt center. the hitec broke just moving the elev. so i'll try a diff set of mg servos this time.
