Supernice Draken!
Very impressive Draken build AIR SALLY!

If I just had more time right now I'd make another one, my attempt at it was one of the nicest/most impressive flying models Ive ever had, envy...

About the thrust line, I did'nt notice much (if any) pitch change at any speed or trottle setting that I can remember and mine was probably close to as the full scale (or worce). Just the 3mm skin from the 90mm midi to the 70mm (the tail cone of a 1:12 size)
Its probably a good approach making it adjustable anyway, and please tell what you learn from any such tests.

And of course please please video for us when time comes.

Edit: Found the last clip of mine.

As you can see it doesn't climb or something at full trottle or full speed.
Still sometimes wounder exactly what caused the crash,
thinking maybe thrustline might have had some influence,
nae it was stalled at reattempt + perhaps frozen fingers - it was... a bit cold.

to me it looks like you got in a too tight turn and with the intake placed as you hav done , the fan was killed by no air comming in. one of my slingjets did almost the same ...not flown by me ... jets have to have speed in the air to stay alive.
but any how .. nice to hear from you..
now we only need airsally to send more pictures....

sounds to be in the 500w range on a mini fan.

ck'd the specs( DATA) on the web site ,one plane had a wemo 480 /mega,and one had alfa/mega on 4s.it appears to be really stable ...i am worried about the long ducts in this ...but i have the WM 400 that was designed to work with long ducts , my parts are on the way ,so i can cont. with adding the guts

this model showed fully that ducting could be much better...and magnus aggreed with me especially after seeing the Mirage flying with its long ducts.
it was hand launced and did very fine at looked like a piece of cake to do it it was only that the speed gain stopped very early, i think it was turbolence in the first part of the duct as the speed raised.
but the overall conclusion of the plane ... real fine and stabil flyer .. but needed to breath better to have some speed build up.

I feel that I must answer to/clarify some of the statements from Claus so that no misunderstanding is "spread" (concerning my Draken):

When we were in Denmark 7-8 June on Electric Jets excellent "1st International Electric Jet Meeting " and flew the Draken I had forgot my batteries at home (in Sweden). The only one I had was a 4s lipo, 1600mAh... and it flew! I made three flights with that battery (total flight time: 7― minutes), all on half trottle and I can assure you that that battery isnīt feeling well today

With 4s, 2500mAh we have estimated the horizontal speed to approximately 100km/h (60-65mph) and that enough for me The thrust with this battery is 1100 grams and that is exactly the weight of the model.

The length of the duct and the shape of the air intake are working fine in my Draken. If you want more speed, especially with a heavier model, you definitely need to move the fan backwards and/or open up extra air intake in the body.

If you have any questions or ideas, please contact me on my e-mail: info@mbs-rcmodels.se

/Magnus
