Shortening the Slow Stick fuselage by 6"?
I crashed my slow stick and split the carbon tube about 6" up the tube. Can I just chop off that front portion and move all the components back? Doing so would shorten the entire plan by around 6". How would this affect maneuverability?
Thanks! |

Probably not much as long as you have enough length left to move components and still get the CG right.

It will be more sensitive in pitch, but will fly if it will ballance on the C/G.

I shortened my SS by 5" on purpose. Tried to get it to turn without dropping the nose so much. No difference..flys about the same on 120w set up.

Update- I ended up cutting it by about 7" and it flies great! Much more sensitive to elevator, though, so I toned down the servo throw for that.
