Bj- I think the stuff I got is flat and comes rolled up. The middys stuff does work But I did see there is rough inside and smooth inside stuff. I used the smooth.

Pass a rag with some silicone/WD40 through the inside of the tube first. Kinda like a rifle pull-though.

PS - Swoop - bottom of the wing is taped. Came up well. Will install the servos and control surfaces tomorrow. Got some Eneloops that I'll make up into a pack as well - should give me 2000mAh instead of 1500mAh without much weight penatly (and it's up in the nose, anyways).

Great video Gizzo! That is a thermal!!! I'm with Mick, chuck a plane in and try to core it. You could see the strong sink right next to it when that big piece of plastic came down.

Hi there, I'm moving back to Brisbane at the end of the month. Can anyone recommend any good sloping sites around the metropolitan area? I will be going Caloundra reasonably regularly to visit the parents. I've seen gliders flying off the headlands there. Thanks.

Hey Roo2. The north facing headland near Moffat Beach is possibly the best slope in the Caloundra area. Only works in a northerly but strong smooth lift when it works. There is an east facing slope just round the corner from here but I haven't tried it myself, looks pretty dicey.

10 or 15mins north of Caloundra you'll find Point Cartwright. A really nice slope for SE winds.

Bewteen these two sites is Alexandra Headland. It works in a NE, a good site too but not as good as the others I've mentioned.

Closer to Brisbane is Shorncliffe, works in NE-SE (I think, I haven't flown there for a bit now). It's about the only site close to Brisbane that I know of.

Other than that there are a few sites around Maleny and Mt Mee but they're mostly private land so you need permission to fly from most of them.
