New Cypher 3D from Hobby People

Anyone seen the new Cypher for real yet? I saw a big ad for it in RC Helimag and it actually looked pretty good

Comes with motor, esc and metal head for supposed "street price" of $220. Doesn't look like much reason for upgrades with that setup, but...... you know you will (you know who you are )

I used to live down the street from HP Ft Valley and thats likely where it would show up first.

I guess the real litmus test will be the parts availability and prices. If they don't compete with Trex and the Blade 400 it probly won't last that long.

How about a RTF killer deal with RD8000 2.4 and decent lipos for lets say $449??

Global could do it I bet. They did it when it was just the 1st store in BP as Hobby Shack. Greenshields himself working the counter and ppl 3 deep to fork over their $$$

It looks new but how good can it really be at $220? Just a spot taker-upper if you ask me - just another choice among a dozen 450's that fly pretty much the same way.

I agree. For the average flyer (non Szabo) they will all fly the same.

Which in turn was influenced by the Avante Aurora. Nothing is "new" with helis really.

Bingo! exactly why the Trex is where it is today. If parts prices had been twice the Shogun parts prices, instead of the other way 'round would anyone have bought one?

Maybe a little, but the price is too reasonable IMO for it to be from
Protech. Besides, everyone knows they are OEM design house, not
the real mfg. This may have even been an open source design from
the real mfg just as some golf club heads are.
