Cool - I guess I get to go first!

Here's a Pong Two. Designed by the late L.F. Randolph and featured in a Flying Models article in 1984. Plans are still available at their website. Designed for a Cox .049 and 2 channels. Mine is powered by a Black Widow with a turbo plug head and covered in Ultracote. Standard Futaba receiver and battery. Hitec HS-81 servos. Wingspan = 44". I started construction in Aug. 07 and the maiden was on Dec. 1st.

This vid was taken the day of the maiden. Still running pretty rich at this point.

Running a bit better here. Flies about 1.5 minutes on the 8cc tank.

Here's my hotter Pong Two powered by a Cox Medallion .09. It was built simultaneously alongside the yellow one. It has a 1.5oz tank in the fuse with a hatch for access. I made landing gear for it but don't use them since I fly it in a field. These vids were taken on the maiden day and were in a heavy wind. I've got more recent video that looks much better but it's on 8mm and I don't have a analog/digital converter to load those up online. It slow rolls real nice to the left with just rudder and elevator inputs. Flights last about 6 minutes.

I love the loud, raspy sound of a Cox .09! Turn the volume up.

OK, here are links to a few of my 1/2A plane videos:

First is ptlumer's take on the classic "stick" series of planes. It's "Das Not Ugly" (DNU) - 2ch (A/E) with a 30" shoulder wing. Mine flies on a Norvel .049 C/L engine.

Second is rainedave's "Sure Shark" originally designed as a low wing, 2 channel (A/E) plane for use with a Cox Sure Start. I did mine up "full house" (R/A/E/T) and an AP .061 - With it's 33" wing, the all up weight is just a hair under 12 oz.

Last, but not least is my "Petite Stick" it's like a LaStick on a diet. I added two inches to the wing span, added about an inch to the overall length, but slimmed the fuse by 1/2" all around. It's a 2ch. (R/E), 22" shoulder wing, flying on a Cox T.D. .010. All up weight 4 5/8 oz.

Enjoy!

That Petite Stick video had a huge impact on my decision to build the LaStick last year. After watching it about 50 times, I just had to start cutting out the pieces for my own.

OK, here are a few more:
http://home.comcast.net/~jbwebst/Grace-07.wmv

This is the RC Universe 1/2A Postal Plane Project's airplane, Grace.
Specs (and plans) for the plane can be found at www.crowriverrc.com.

The other is a twin cylinder engine I made by gearing two Cox .049 reed valve engines together.

Actually, both engines run backwards with the prop turning the normal way (think about it for a minute).... A reed valve inducted engine will run either way equally well so they're perfect for this application.

I fixed the link, the video should load now.

I haven't flown the engine - it's not really all that powerful for the weight, but it does make a neat conversation piece!
