If i remember right a lot of guys used the blue wonder on 3s for 3d ships,so im fairly certain youd be fine.most sites will give the specs of motors.

The Blue Wonder should work OK, but it will not fly that lively. The tried and true 2212-6 or D2826 2200kv motors on 3S with a 6X4E prop really is the way to go on these birds. They give right at 24 ounces of thrust and performance is awesome!

Thanks Pat. I'm going to continue my efforts to talk him into getting a bigger motor and leaving the BW on the bench for another day. I'm also trying to talk him into Tom's F-22 instead of the F-18, but he's retired Navy, so that may be a bigger challenge than the new motor...

I ran across this Cargo Twin at parkjets.com, and it got me thinking.... I need a Fat Albert to go along with my Blue Angels TomHe F-18...

Anyone know of a C-130 plan? My quick search didn't reveal much.

The Cargo-Twin is pretty close, so I could probably just mod this plan...

I read on athread to spay the hinge tape with adheasivebefore aplying, or the tape won"t stick to the foam.

I use 3M Blenderm. No need to spray any adhesive as it sticks very well. I even sell it on my site:

I think he was going cheap with reguler packing tape,which would not stick to foam.

I've used packing tape in the past, and it does stick to foam initially, but comes loose after a while. After I switched to Blenderm I never looked back.

I've used blenderm as well and it does stick quite well on foam too. Recently I came across a method that some guys have been using for a while with Beacon Foam Tac glue. Some use it as a bonding agent under the blenderm (you need to let it dry a bit and then apply the tape over it) some use only the Foam tac and make a flexible hinge. Here's a video a guy made on YouTube. I have since tried it and it works just like the video shows. It's actually quite amazing and it's water proof therefore great for seaplanes.

When you try to pull it apart it breaks the foam not the glue. The only problem is that it seems difficult for some folks to get outside of the USA.

HELLO IM IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING THIS.. BUT THE TOP AND BOTTOM FUSE PEACES. WILL NOT ALIGN RIGHT.. THE TABS TO THE SLOTS.. could someone tell me..if you have to curve the nose of the plane to get them to fit.. or whats the secret.. SCRATCHING MY HEAD.... PLEASE HELP!!!

I've built two of these F-18's, If you followed the "cut" and "tab" lines, should fit nice and snug, there is a slight "curve" sloping down the nose but nothing that would make it seem out of sorts, without pictures it's difficult to trouble shoot what you have done.
