13-Turn Wye dLRK Hex "Blue Wonder" 24-gram Outrunner $21 Shipped
Thirteen turns of 25awg in distributed LRK for quiet running and better throttle control -- an ideal two-layer fit. You can figure on getting a solid 16+ ounces of thrust from less than 8 amps using most small 3-cell LiPos (I used a 460 when running the original tests). Unless you use the Wildebeest Battery From Mars it should be a completely Tbird9-safe motor that still has eyepopping power for its size.
Tested about 74% efficient with an 8040 GWS HD prop (the target for this motor). This is the original setup that "just oozes niftiness" because the wire fit is just perfect -- you can kind of see how neat it is in the picture. It's not a killer wind, so the price is moderate.

If you're in Canada and Real Nice (but who there isn't?) I might also ship under compelling circumstances, but it does require filling out forms and waiting in line and stuff like that (which I Do Not Like) and does cost a bit more. On the other hand I love Canada, so quite often sentiment wins out over good sense.
