Well you see that is just it. You gotta buy the right stuff. It's no different then buy expensive componants. You have to buy the right thing for the job. Just because something costs 3x more then another, does not always mean it will do the job. I just took the time researching the requirements to get a 450 class heli airborne. And what you see is the result. It is stable. Has plenty of power. Is reliable. Will jump when I tell it too. It will flip, loop and roll with no problem.

It just comes down to one thing, making sure you what you buy is right for the job.

Yes it is all that you stated. I have really put that heli through some paces. I am no "spaz 3d" flyer by no means. And I have no desire to be one. I like to fly my helis like I fly planes. Flips, loops, rolls, inverted, high speed circuits and the like. That heli does all the afore mentioned and does it with ease . There is more to flying helis then raw power. There is more to flying anything then raw power. There is alot of benefit in learning collective management and energy retention.

And yeah, that guys muffler was HORRIBLE! But that is the price you pay when you live out in the country. But I sure do have some nice big fields to fly in right outside my door!

Thanks, its called snakeskin, thats what we call it anyway. I think another term is braided wire wrap. You can find it at a numer of online heli shops. I just had some at work so I used it. It's the first time I have tried it on a heli. Makes things a little tight around the receiver but not too bad. I also tried another first... mounting the gyro under the mainshaft. I'm interested to see how that works out.

Technically, thats the best spot to put a gyro (from what i've read.) Although with the new gyros, i'm probably not gonna notice a difference. I really think these bearings are stiff. I think yours is flying better becuase they are breaking in? Does it feel to be loosening(sp?) up?

Of course I find out about this EXI after I already built one for a friend ... may try it out though for another who is thinking of getting into heli's. Nice birds!

How is the head and tail holding up for those who stuck with stock (included with it)?

Finally finished and gave her a quick hover. I gotta say so far i'm impressed. It's very stable, feels just like my T-rex (in hover anyway.) The only things I have changed are the landing gear , tail boom, tail pushrod, blades and flybar/paddles. All in all for around $500(all equip -Tx) this seems like an awsome bird.
