Just browsing the Flair website (UK importer of Multiplex stuff) and saw ...

* a 4-engine airliner type model called the "Cargo" (like a DC4 with a taildragger u/c). 4 x 6v speed 400s, span 56"

* a 12 oz aerobatic model called the "Stuntman". Made from Depron, available April. Geared 280, span 32".

Also a float set for the Pico Cub, and a 7 oz indoor model called "Lupo" that I have seen before (on the US website I think).

The Cargo really appeals to me! I've never heard of this model before.

Take another look at the Cargo, especially the fuselage & fin shape.

Is it just me, or is there a semi-scale B17 in there?

I just rang Paul at my local shop Steve Webbs- the Flair/Multiplex rep is there on Monday mornings and hopefully he can get on the case straight away- maybe I'll have the CF-reinforced landing gear done by then as well. I'll post pictures if I do.

Thanks for the notice of some neat looking "coming attractions." Yes, it doesn't take too much squinting to see a B-17 in the Cargo. Wonder why Multiplex isn't at least marketing a version as a bomber. Not politically correct or something? I've always seen an A-7 in Hitec's Scooter and that definitely has more appeal for me than a goofy-looking plane wearing glasses. Guess they're marketing for the young kids instead of the old ones like me.

Wouldn't you need some serious high capacity cells to keep this thing in the air for a reasonable amount of flight time? 3000mA?

The tail does look like a b-17. The plane looks neat like that, but a B-17 would be neater.

I'm thinking the markings (windows, door, etc) are decals of some sort. If that's the case, it looks like it wouldn't take too much effort to turn the Cargo into "B-17ish"-looking bomber. A little olive drab, gun turrets, some military markings and I'm thinking you could come-up with a neat flyer for those "Twelve O'Clock High" missions. I like the functioning bomb bay....errr..I mean "compartment doors." Sounds like a potential new event for fun flys. See who comes closest to the target on a bombing run.
