Nope! I took a bare one and put LEDs on it. It went from 6.5oz AUW to 7.5oz AUW and flies just fine!

Yep. I used to run Hyperion 450's, but I like the added weight of the 850 in the nose. Seems to penetrate a little better and makes the plane a little less squirrely in the wind.

.

Depron must weigh in at the same weight … Can only be the setup/power pack? What are you using? And do you have paint or decals etc?

Thanks

Battery

Guys, I use either a 500 or 800 3S battery pack. Flies better with the 800 pack since it is slightly heavier. I use the 1806 BL motor. Has plenty of b__s! Marty

Some guys are using lighter 10g motors and small 320-450 2S packs. I think with my setup and 3S 450 I came in at 5.8oz AUW.

I'm running
  • 17gram Power Up 250 Sport 2400kV motor,
    Hobby King 10A ESC
Hobby King OrangeRx receiver (with the case removed)
    (2) Tower Pro SG-50 5g servos
    GensAce 450mAh batteries

I've painted some pink polka dots on mine. You know - for camouflage.

Yeah M! Your girlfriend won't even notice. It blends in with her fingernail and toenail polish! Marty

Hamid,

Very nice! That was some nice smooth flying.

At 65cm you are actually closer to the size of tomhe's original one that my smaller one at 46cm.

Well, I finally broke down and tried an 800mAh 3S on mine (I've been flying 450's).

And, as much as I hate hate hate to add weight to an airplane that already flies well, I have to admit that it flew great with the 800. You can certainly feel the extra weight, especially at low speeds, but it had more oomph and penetrated better. Landings were less floaty but, all-in-all, probably actually easier than with the 450's. The plane has less of a tendency to just stop dead in the air at the wrong moment.
