I wonder what'll power this thing. Do you think this could be flown in a larger residential park? I'm talking two soccer fields, softball field, baseball field, basketball court, and tennis court. Assuming you get it up over the few trees, would it be a smart idea? Or will this be too large? I shudder at the thought of it going down by someone's house.

Looks like you guys at E-flite made another winner! Once we get a rough idea when the plane will hit the market, I'll start the process for buying up the various parts again. For me it makes the hit in the wallet easier to handle when I do it slowly versus all in one shot.
Some things I like already:
Floats are a given.
The flaps are nice touch whether they are needed or not.
Flap push rods are internal.
I like the strut set-up similar to the T-craft
Easy access battery hatch
Outline looks very close to scale.
I am a little worried about:
Holes in the battery hatch close to floats/water.

Since John has left for the day, here are a couple stats for you.
68" span, weighs in at 4.3 lbs, so it's certainly not a park flyer. Power 25 does nicely on wheels, power 32 would be good for floats.
Dora, the "holes" in the battery hatch actually are covered from the inside with a molded plastic part. You can still use the holes to grip and remove the hatch, but they are sealed to prevent water from entering the fuse. If you're not going to fly off water at all, you can open them up with a rotary tool at your option.
Regarding the release date of the model holding the model, you'll have to ask her husband. Considering they only got married a short while ago, I doubt she'll be available any time soon!
As far as timing goes, at this point I believe we're still on schedule for some time in February, although I can't get more specific than that.
