Thanks for kind words and parts information. Turns out I need a Seawind mast and rudder, rudder is the problem child. Nirvana just needs sails, so no problem there. Thanks for any leads on a Seawind rudder.

Thanks dwatson and boomer, active showed the rudder and kyosho shows the mast, so have my parts hopefully coming from 2 different suppliers. Shame that parts are getting rare for these boats.

Glad you're OK.

Were the boats loose in the car, or would that have made any difference at all?

I have a Honda Element and just lay them in the back on a rubber pad that keeps them from sliding around in normal driving. After the accident the Seawind mast was about 3 inches into the center AC duct and not straight anymore.

HMMM...

I usually just lay my boats against, or on, the back seat of my Honda Civic.

Maybe I should start putting a seat belt around them or something.
Bungee cords, Styrofoam blocks....

You just never know do you. Guess that's why they're called accidents.

My little footy I'm building has included in the plans, a plan for building a small box to carry it around in.
Should be safer in that than loose, I'm thinking.

Very glad there were no injuries other than to "things". Wondering if the rudder is repairable??
Boomer

Nirvana for sale - listed in the boat section - this was the boat I mentioned that was on craig's list. Looks nice for $150 shipped. Get more pictures. The boat I think is in Fallbrook, which is not to far from me.

Looks like the weather here is not working for sailing Been raining all day and reports suggest more of the same over the weekend. We do need the rain so I guess it is a good thing. More water for the lakes!
Looks like you fellows in the Northeast are getting a blizzard! Guess a little rain is better! Be safe out there.
