I went to that site.
I wasn't impressed with it, hard to navigate, scattered subjects etc.
Great idea boomer, but I don't see it going anywhere.
Has anyone else tried it?

Once you get the hang of it, navigating that forum is pretty simple. The interests in the UK and Europe are some what different than those we see find here, but overall a good lot of enthusiast and most are willing to help out other hobbyist.

I was just curious to see what response I might get from my post, but as I mentioned, lots of hits but no comments. That still strikes me as odd.
Bet if some of those chaps had a chance to sail a Nirvana, they might just like it!

Wild Bills newest springer variant, rescues his own newest footy, as Murphys newest Nirvana cruises by in the back ground. I asked about the springer and was told something about a Japanese debris field....

My Fairwind III

Toying with the idea of launching my FW today.
Supposed to be sunny and 6 degrees.
We'll see.

Thanks John.

I DID get it launched today, 6 degrees and sunny, not much wind though.

Still needs dialing in, rudder was a bit off, had to use all my left trim for straight line.
Balance isn't too bad, a wee bit of weather helm, just the way I like it.

Don't know how she'll behave in a blow yet though, as far as weather helm and ballast weight are concerned.
Need more wind for that test!
But at least she floats, and was bone dry inside.

BTW, I found out why the winches are now spring loaded.
On a sail-by, one of them did get caught on my main sheet.
I saw the winch lean over and the line slipped off of it. Cool!
I'll have to do a little more engineering on that problem.

Inside, sometimes I could hear a little snapping sound too.
Turned out to be the snap-on hooks attached to the sail arm catching on the edge of the radio box.
Took them off, and tied the lines directly to the arm.
They don't need to be in there anyway, there is plenty of adjustment available topsides.
The Nirvanas lines are tied off the same way, doesn't create any problems. Too many hooks!

Anyway, I'm very happy with her, a few more tweaks before spring, but she sails, and looks good doing ti too!

More Footy pics

Got a bit more work done on my Brando Footy today.
Reinforced the deck around the cabin opening (pretty flimsy).
Added the strake, rub rail, and the toe rail on the sides and stern.
Built the cockpit, and installed it.

How's that for a rabbit trail?

Enjoy.
