I think I'm going to sell mine as I just don't have a good location to use it. There is a Nirvana sail club near me, which is why I bought it. After I ordered the boat however I found out they only meet on weekdays (all retired folks) so I can't really get in on that.

Mine has been in the water one time and everything works great.

Here is what I have and what I paid for it:

PROD# QTY DESCRIPTION PRICE TOTAL
--------- --- ----------------------------------- -------- ---------
NNOE 1 Nirvana complete w/no electronics 165.00 165.00
NBLUE 1 Blue Nirvana 0.00 0.00
NOBP 1 Nirvana On Board Electronics 59.00 59.00
RAN 1 Ranger Radio System by Hitec (all b 39.00 39.00
INSTALL30 1 Installation service, electronic 30.00 30.00
NBUMPER 1 Nirvana Bow Bumper 8.00 8.00
NSHIELD 1 Nirvana Sheet Shield 6.00 6.00

Subtotal: $ 307.00
Discounts: $ -0.00
Sales Tax: $ 0.00
Shipping: $ 15.58
TOTAL: $ 322.58

It has the upgraded servos with the Hitec radio system. Please PM me if interested, I'd like to get this to someone that will enjoy it!

If you haven't posted your Nirvana for sale in the Classified section of this forum, you would be well served to do so. Take some good pictures of the boat so folks can clearly see it's condition.
I am not sure how many folks buy Nirvana's that are so well equiped? I am shopping for a near new blue boat, but have all the electronics I will ever need, so the basic boat is more to my budget.
Yours sounds terrific. Good luck on your sale and I am sorry you didn't get to enjoy it.

not trying to be a stick in the mud, but trying to get what you paid for it back is going to be a hard sell. 1, or 100 hours of use is still used. generally 1/2 price is a good starting point. i'm not saying you won't sell it at $307 shipped, or that it's not worth it, but it is a used boat.

look at it like this. you buy a new car. you pull off the lot, and you just lost near $6000 of what you just gave the dealer. luckily you have time on your side. sailboats don't sail very well on hard water. 50% of us are wishing to be out on the pond.

Mr. Doom
Your point is well taken and the $300+ asking price will be certainly be a challenge. It has long been my approach, that buying the right product, which a Nirvana is, and buying it at the right price are the essential to being able to sell quickly, and at a price that insures not having to endure a significant loss.

It is always wisdom to check out the current prevailing prices (both new and used)for a product before setting the selling or asking price for the item to be sold. Shipping factors into selling as well.

I hope Wrathchild has a successfull sale. I am sorry he didn't get to enjoy his boat!

So you tried to get some of them to meet you on a weekend? I'm sure someone would like to do that...if not then just go and sail anyway...next thing you know there will be others wanting to play too.

looked like you wanted $322 for it not seeing B/O, or such. put it in the for sale forum with a price. you'll get more exposure there than here even though this is a nirvana thread. i'll be honest though. $225 shipped would be realistic.

i agree Hog. contact the nirvana sailors in that club. i'd just about bet the farm that you would get quite a few guys to come out and sail. besides spring would be a better time to try, and sell it. or separate it. radio equipment, and boat. are you getting totally out of boats? if not you can always use the radio in another boat.

just my 2 cents worth.

Does this mean Steve @ SailRC is not accepting Nirvana Class registration and issuing sail numbers? It is still on his web site.

Just curious

Thanks for that. Unfortunately that is the person that I referred to above. They are in a retirement community and sail at 9am on Mondays and Wednesdays only. I tired to get together with their group on the weekends but other than occasional special events they only do weekdays.

Decal Removal

New Nirvana's have the URL of Megatech on the luff of both the main and jib. I searched this thread for removal suggestion, nothing, any advice? Also, but not as important, the Nirvana decals on the hull.

Last new vehicle I bought I told the dealer "no sale" [sail ] unless they took their advert off. Pet peeve..

Thanks

i agree. that's FREE advertisement for them. they should pay you to have it on your car, and at least ask if you want it on your car.

Wrath

if and when you post it to the for sale forum put a link to it here.

The decals come of the hull pretty easily. You can try a hair dryer - using caution not to get the sails to hot. I have used a hair dryer to soften the decals adhesive, so I can peel it off.

I didn't mind the stuff on the sails, but suggest to Megatech they might be a bit decal happy. "Less is more" as the saying goes.
