Just noticed. In that shot the lead boat is wing on wing and the following boat is close hauled. What's up with that Boomer?

I was able to grab enough of the wind to go wing on wing sooner, but a second later the other boat open um up and went wing on wing. I think John may have been sippin a cool one at that momment and I got the drop on him!
My boat is just a little faster than his - not quite sure why exactly but he has different sails on his boat than I do ( a set of Walrus sails actually) interestingly, I am running the stock sails, but run a slightly different sail trim than he does. Once they are both wing on wing they are well matched.
Lots of fun. We both have Nirvana's, so the match racing goes on all the time.

Thanks for the support John, but in spite of his publicly impuning my character I would rather it be dropped than have this thread go the way of the other. This site is better than that. Here we disagree with each other without character assasinations. Thanks also to Boomer and Pappy.

Some of the earlier boats used a little yellower plastic, it seems, for the deck, I have seen some very dark..

Guys, peace has returned to Happy Valley. Please reread drpower's posts. We were able to straighten things out for which I thank him.

Carry on

I find the automotive type pin striping to be better quality than the hobby shop type.

De, all the stripe I use are commercial grade, Universal products brand.

The rest of the stuff I use is commercial vinyl I cut on a plotter/cutter for the names and designs, except for what I airbrush..all the sailboats are vinyl designs only.

Just a heads up - for any of you sailors that want a great "rescue boat" to add to their fleet and like things that are really done well, Chi has his Motor Life Boat up for sale.
The price is ridiculously low for everything he's put in it and done to it. Take a look at the add in the classifields.
Here's the link: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1735927
This is an opportunity to pick up an amazing boat for pennies on the dollars invested in it.

While I'm availing myself with Boomers Yacht Sales, I sold my MLB, and, because of the 5 new boats that are gonna be living here, time to move out some others..

My Seawind, Incubus, is also on the list, its a second gen edition, had a weakness corrected that the 1st gen carbon fiber boats had in the keel area, plus I re-enforced it more..

Has aftermarket hatch, waterproof, custom walrus sails, futaba 3801 sail servo, futaba rudder servo, and a futaba/tactic 2 channel stick 2.4 transmitter/receiver..6V rechargable pack, outside switching and charging, all waterproof.

The sail servo is no longer made, they sell for big $$..and the transmitter is not for sale at all, only comes with Great planes proprietary boats.

Great planes is the parent company of Futaba, tower hobbies, grim racer, etc.

Having friends there helps with these things..

Aint gonna be no more carbon 'Winds, the were only a few, 2 yrs., I think..if there are anymore 'Winds at all..this is the most valuable, with all the right radio gear.

$850 + shipping..
