Any info about on your rescue boat? How is it used? What is under the "skin"?
You don't have a Nirvana? Bummer! Can't image anything like this letter "thing" deterring anyone from enjoying such a terrific boat. Things like that are non-issues on any scale, plus, the qualities of these boats and the fun we have with them more than off-set any minor irritation such none sense might have arisen from reading about such things. People disagree about nothing all the time - jump in join the fun!

There are thousands of Nirvana's around the world being sailed and enjoyed by folks that have absolutely no concern or knowledge of such trivial matters. I think you'd really enjoy sailing one!

Sailed mine for 5 hours last night, good breeze, good company, had a great time.

What a great sailing, maneuverable, trouble free little sailboat.
Looks good too!
Heading to a cottage tomrrow, "Nerve Anna" is going with me, nice lake up there.
I'll send pictures.

OK, pictures here. Back from the cottage.
Sailed from 2:30 PM to 5:30 on Saturday and 9:30 AM to 12:30 on Sunday. (Had to leave then, long drive home.)
Note the "N"

Not sure what would be worse, if your real pond gator got feeling romantic to it or if he felt threatened by it's moving into his territory and ....CHOMP.

Not real big, about twice as long as wide (the width you can see in the pics).

It's an old volcano top, ringed by trees, the highest point around, and a spring fed lake (cold), stocked with trout, very deep on the far side.

It's one of 5 privately owned lakes, all jointly owned by the cottage owners ( a co-op).
The whole thing abuts Algonquin Park on the one side.
Two of the lakes are quite large, (powerboats allowed), the smaller ones, canoes and sailboats only.

Peaceful spot.

The cottage is my brother in laws.
Took our kids up there for about ten years in a row while they were young, haven't been up there for about 12 years. (5 hour drive)

Rick,
You have some beautiful country up there! Here is So. Cal. being mostly desert like we don't get have a lot of forested areas, until you go up to the mountains.
My primary lake is located in an area the is about 2200' above sea level, and in a desert enviornment - Still very pretty and being a golf course and resort setting there has been lots of landscaping added to enhanse the appeal.
Since moving to Temecula, which we are only about 16 miles from the RV resort where I do most of my sailing, I have discovered 2 other local lakes that are quite nice and are ideal for sailing,

One is open to the public (Harveston Lake) and the other is in a gated community. I am trying to see if I can find a some resident in there that might like a new friend that could loan him a boat in trade for lake access. The one open to the public is really nice and there are already guys sailing there, so that is going to be a resouce for me. It is about 8 miles from our house, They sail a bunch of Victor 1 meter Solings, but welcome all others,

May be able to introduce them to a few other boats Anyway, that place is really pretty. I found a pictures of Harveston Lake - see below

Some time ago, I started a thread here called "Post your favorite pictures of your RC sailboats" that has been very popular and provided those that follow that thread with some amazing boat pictures, but also some great sailing lakes and ponds around the world. There have been over 75,000 views and growing each day - hundreds of great sailing pictures and videos - If you haven't visited that thread, please take a look and post some of your pictures there. It has become a great photo album.

Being out in nature with our boats is one of the real benefits of the hobby for sure!

The pictures below illustrate the "man scape" that transforms the desert floor into a pretty lush place, but you can see the surrounding mountains are pretty rocky and don't provide much of a forest - The higher mountains do have big trees but they are pretty hard to see. Any way we are fortunate to have such a nice place to sail and hang out!
