No, Bill, it looks good as a powerboat, I'm thinkin, rides very well for a displacement hull, WITH a keel too..its quite fast too, for the vids sake, I ran it slow, wanted to make sure it didnt heel over or swamp, but, it rides well, CG came right where I wanted it for the prop shaft angle..

The shame is, If I could REASONABLY get in the Nirvana, I would put REAL motor in it, and some strakes to get her up on plane..lol..

When fixing Thorsails/Pappys used Nirvana, I replaced the radio box and closed a hole forward in the hull, even tho the radio box can come out, no room for the drive line or big batt..

After seeing how the boat will run with the rig on, I will try to use the speed the motor can push it with by adding a hydrofoil wing to the keel, to raise the boat out of the water as much as it can.. with wing on wing in 20 kt. wind and motor full out, it gotta be silly..lol.

Now that's what am talkin about! Very cool "motor sailor". Be interesting to see how she does with wind powering her.

It does a nice profile - makes a nice looking power boat - Backing up a single screw anything is fun, not to mention dragging around that keel.

Very nice John!!

Bronco finished (front painted)

I got the muratic acid to wash it with, but can't decide on painting the chrome or not...the rattle can 'matte' finish is not anywhere near flat, so I will not use it.

Is there anything I can put over the flat paint to protect it, without affecting the flat finish?

Now back to the toy boats...

In response to Boomers kind words, Crash is the most worthy, he started and defends the thread, a Nirvana board member, and a accomplished modeler..

Rick himself, also a board member, brings his fine art of diplomacy to our organization, and attracts new guys, where I tend to revert to my earlier days..

I am proud to call em friends..

Also, here is a better vid of the Fairwind, with servo reversed..lol..I ran it for 35 min., so, its got good reserve, no water inside whatever, sea trials done..

PS Crash, show em some vid of the pirate ship..the "big un"..

Nice vids! Looking forward to seeing the Fairwind motor sailor sail!
On another note - my Fairwind arrived - but it's going back - The seller promised there were no cracks, scratches or any other damages to the boat, sadly that is not the case. Upon receiving the boat and inspecting carefully, I discovered a nice crack in the bottom of the hull, and a couple of noticeable blemishes in the paint work - looks like someone tried to make a repair and didn't do a very good job!
I contacted the seller, sent them pictures and they agreed to a full refund. Since it was and E-bay and PP purchase it is covered by the E-bay buyer protection program, so I am covered either way.
I posted a picture of the crack - While it is repairable, the blemish in the hull's beautiful Navy blue paint is not! Deal breaker!
I always put the terms of my purchase in the purchase agreement which gives E-bay extra leverage with the seller. Since the seller promised there were no issues they have no way to refuse the refund.

Rats! Very disappointed! Oh well

Happy to take the pictures - no problem - just have to find a cherry Fairwind lll -
Very interested to see how one sails. All is not lost as I do have a new Serenity which as I have mentioned before is as close to being a "dead ringer" to the Fairwind lll as you are going find. The paint and glass work is every bit as nice.

It has a just a tad less "ginger bread" on it and the life line stanchions are metal which is a plus from my perspective.

I'm workin on it!
