Good work.

Who is Bob Ross? sorry? but yes I see we both know the best color. I've always said Yellow fear is a great motivator. The competition thinks we're trying to compete when we are running with stark fear to get away. Especially the likes of War buzard."........I mean War Eagle".

Yellow also means Rookie in NASCAR ... appropriate for my first sailboat.

Lets see ... I've had the Nirvana for a week and a half. Last weekend, I took time over the entire long weekend to do mods to the boat, like painting the sails and rerigging with Spectra line. It came out pretty well, although I had to pull the boat from the water today after noticing the main sheet line had somehow come loose from the anchor in the radio box. today was a good test for the boat, as windy as it was.

Mangus: sorry for being "absent" during your visit to MMBC, but unavoidable. Notice you got a chance to take home some "remember me? " paint from our War Eagle . Certainly hope you can return when we can all come out and play in the sun. Thanks for the great movie-you and Crash can keep us all entertained and eating caramel corn. (Good, but sticks to my plate ) Come again and we will try to harness Crash next time.

Some terrific pictures and video. Great wind conditions - a good challenge for both boat and skipper.
You guys know which picture I liked the best? If not I re-posted it below.
Worth a 2nd look for sure.

The photo has captured yet another skipper that has clearly cut in front the War Eagle! Crash had no chance to avoid contact, so he did what any normal Pirate would do, so he T-Boned the guy! Arrrrrg

Good stuff guys. Thanks for sharing

Ahhh, Bill, you must be a ford guy..that car never ran except for the promo ads, as the ENTIRE car was illegal..lightened, no safety gear, set up to run JUST a top speed run..

Ford loved to capitalize on mondays..

I actually had a mustang cammer..was a decent engine, they didnt develop it any further, until the new 4.6 sohc of the 90-91 lincolns..now a 4cam in the mustangs. personally, the Y block tunnel port 427 was the best engine ever from ford..designed to be a race engine, downtuned for the street..almost bullet proof, and could turn 7500 and live all day in nascar..

The unofficial top speed on the chrysler wing cars was said to be north of 240...

or so I was told when I worked at chrysler..and the pics were there to show it..they had thought it could do 250, but, it woulda been a REAL winged car..lol.. they had the body aero down, but, didnt have belly pan right, and the car was too BIG..

But, good for '69

After reading this thread I am really getting interested in the Nirvana although all the guys here sail US1M.
Aha!
Another convert!

Welcome Hircsailor.

Ten boats? Are you still married?

I have seen Vics sailing and they look very nice, pretty boat.
Sailed with a few briefly, and they seem to handle well, but I don't think they are as trouble free.

Haven't owned one, but my impression is that they do better in lighter winds than the Nirvana can handle.
Not much more I can say about them with any degree of authority!

Maybe someone who has had both boats can chime in here more info for you.

DW, I think that would be more accurately called the "Target" position.

Now in the first pic if Mangus had had a blue boat he wouldn't have been in that predicament.

Bill
No defense, it was the RAM show!
