SWEAT! Nice work - I mentioned this before -so I am not nagging, but I would suggest closing the loops on your rigging screws - they can fall off the boat when you undo them. They need to be closed to prevent losing the base. Also when you do demast it -I suggest wrapping a piece scotch tape around the top half so you don't lose the locking nut.

Those little things have a way of unscrewing themselves. Just a caution.

You make us proud. Your boat just shows what a little imagination and handy work can do. Very cool.

Boomer,

Thanks for the heads up. I will pinch them tighter today and take care of that. I will take some photos on the water first wind we get.

Thanks again for all the photos and ideas. I really enjoyed the modifications and I am already looking at a Seawind build over the winter.

I am heading to Hamburg Germany in early November and have already made plans to go to Stock Maritime if for nothing else, just to take a lot of photos of their boat set ups and rigging. I would love to make/buy a spare mast/boom set and rig it with jumper struts and spreaders for either the Seawind or possibly set a second mast up for the Nirvana and see how it would improve the performance. It would not be legal to class, but it would look great and most likely perform better also.

For now, I am looking forward to sailing this one as it sits.

Yeah, LOL a hundred buck boat from hobby king... damaged in transit, bad rigging, bad fastners..and Im sure its got stellar radio gear and servos...like I said, JUNK..

The Nirvana itself, has its own things also, bad sails, bad servos, but, it has great support, its a international class, its durable. and cheap.

The monsoon is what you decribed..JUNK

And if you spend the time and $$ correcting the flaws, you still gotta 100 buck nothin..

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the Monsoon issue. I think the word "junk" is where we are in disagreement - the boat sails without issue. The fixes needed will cost very little, perhaps $10.00. The boats don't come with radio's - so whatever the buyer uses will be up to them.

I am not suggesting they are on a par with a Nirvana, simply that it is not a bad boat to have for a guest or buddy to sail. To me that is not junk - it is inexpensive, so maybe we could agree on using the word cheap? Hobbyking's lack of interest in providing good service is well known.

I'll leave it at that.

I saw A STRANGE NIRVANA at the lake today here in Fl., as I am outta town for the weekend, ON THE SIDE OF THE NIRVANA, IT SAID,

An illegal alien, a Muslim and a Communist go into a bar.

The bartender asks,

"What can I get you, Mr. President?"

strange name for a NIRVANA, wouldnt you think???

I asked about the Monsoon as a possible guest boat. My old 24" Proboat Sunrise is so slow compared
to the Nirvana that I figured something else might be more interesting.

Monsoon aint no race boat either, its a 100 buck boat, maybe personally I expect to much from things, but, just cause it floats dont make it good..I like trouble free toys..so they can be enjoyed, not messed with..but, everybody gotta do what THEY gotta do, to please and satisfy their needs.

Another windless day here....but I took a couple of pics anyway....here is one of the Yamaha, a Victoria and a Nirvana....all fairly evenly matched in these conditions.
