No Boomer....that was me letting off to get lined up for a straight on shot....you can hear my sound board fire up when I powered down and let him push me....as soon as I power up the sound board stops working due to the voltage drop...it is soon to be replaced with a new Turbo Diesel Engine...

He claimed he had weeds in the prop, but that was much later after the tug war...

Ahhh...never thought of that.
Still, I can't remember when I last did that. It fits in my car with just the keel removed.
Good point though.
I'm thinking of putting it back the way it was anyway.
Not sure, but I think it was slipping last night.
Hard to tell because as usual the wind died before I could really get into it.

Very cool, Crash. Over the winter I might do some propulsion mods but for now I wouldn't fare to well in a "tug off". Seems a bit of a misnomer since tug is pull rather then push.
I am however the king of tugs at my pond . But then again I am the only tug (or boat of anykind).

BTW what sound system are you using now and what one are you getting? I am trying to find out what the Dallee system sounds like.

I have the defunct JJC sound board in it now and have this one on the way....

Other upgrades include new 6 channel 2.4 radio, smoke generator, and a pump for the fire monitor so I can wash down the Nirvanas...

That one sounds good to me, Crash. I don't now why they all have a starter crank sound though. My understanding is they don't crank those big diesels like a car but use an auxiliary generator to start them. But we can live with it!
I suspect a sound system will be on my Christmas wish list. I also thin I would put a switch in the speaker leads so I wouldn't get banned from running some places.

First time I've seen a tug look smug!!

When I convert my Chriscraft cabin cruiser this winter from nitro to electric I'm going to put this sound module in it..same website.

http://www.harbormodels.com/site08/a...boat_motor.mp3

A bit pricey, but I love the sound.
Might even have a little smoke coming out the twin tailpipes, if it's adjustable.

For those who think about their little 550's, you want power for a single tug??

Try one of these..will pull 1.2 hp at 40 amps at 14.4..

can run a 4 inch prop, with good pitch, too, put it on a gear reduction, as they will turn 23k..BIG pullin power, in a small space, not cheap tho..

these are typically used in fast electric, but, had these made to counter rotate, different timing needed on them for that, and cooling fans inside the motor..

Crash, You wanna try one? on 12v they are a blast..
