I noticed that your motor was a 600kv motor. I also started out with a motor that was low on the kv's and pushed me into a 14 x 7 prop...making the clearance very close to the fuselage. As soon I went to a higher kv motor....I was able to step down to a 4 cell/4000mAh (big weight savings) and achieve close to 900W with a 12 X 6. With the 14 X 7 prop I got close to 1100Watts with the 900kv motor. A motor that works great on the Neptune with a 4Cell/12 X 6 combo is this one:

Emax BL3526/04 Outrunner Brushless Motor

I use this in a Sterling "Fledgling 40"...7.2lbs. I get 910Watts at 63Amps...slightly over recommended max....but I rarely fly at full power. This motor will save you an additional 2.4 ounces up front...combine that with the weight savings from downsizing to a 4 cell....and you will be suprised at the performance. I can climb straight up until it becomes hard to see the orientation....or maybe I need glasses?

Mike,

Thanks for the nice comment, I have a lot of fun flying this bird. I will probably take it out again today. Go right ahead and copy my covering job! Easy to see!! You sure cannot beat the price of this plane, almost a must have!! I am glad I pulled the trigger on this one.

Hi Tom,

Just received another airplane from Value Hobby. The Easy Stick (copy of GP UglyStick) 60. Awesome quality.....with a massive wing area! Will put this one on floats. Can't compete with China and slave labor.......scary!

Mike,

How funny, I also ordered the Stylus 70" from Value Hobbies. It is a copy of the Sig 4 star 60. It will also be recovered and converted to electric. I will fly this bird off of land.
